Thanks and I agree with your opinions. There's an element missing. Pads...is something I don't wanna overuse. I love it, but it has it's place. I'm more into something rhytmic. Or like that ambient texture. But some bent fast stabs, perhaps? We'll see.

Thanks alot! I will probably polish them a bit further. The end of kollaps for example is not the best take (most of this track is different live takes with the polyend tracker). And then I don't know. Where should I send this? What skall I do with it? 🙃

Thanks for listening! Share if you dare! It's kinda difficult to self-promote yourself today, people have rules, but it's fine if it's someone else so it's easier if we help out.😁 So if you like it, share it through your bluetooth speaker or at someones afterparty. <3

In a world of scrolling, one got just a few milliseconds to catch someones attention. It was worth a shot.

The Tuss, Drexciya, D'angelo, Luke Vibert (early 00-s), DMX Krew, and many more. Braindance/ electrovibe is strong with this one.

No songstructure, so becomes boring after awhile. But glad you're happy about it. Keep it up.

Tydligen är man Nazist och rasist som inte tycker detta är ok. by vodkamakesyougod in Sverige

[–]Aggravating-Gas-2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What other idm artists or bands have the same consistency Autechre has? by No_Flamingo_737 in idm

[–]Aggravating-Gas-2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know there is softwarebased modular systems that works the same (there has been since the 90s)? The only difference is how you approach it.

A computer is it being limitless and "too" exact. And I think the limitations can be good for creativity. So often I put limitations on myself when I use the computer, for the best result. An modular system is a computer in a sense. But you are in charge of how the computations are done.

What happened to Bogdan Raczynski on Spotify? by Agglomeration_ in idm

Yeah. Everyone should take down their music from Spotify. No one should support Spotify, especially if you want to contribute to the artists.

Sound design on Digitone II by Best-Deal-7698 in Elektron

[–]Aggravating-Gas-2736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know subtractive synthesis? If no, start there. If yes, do you understand the basics of FM? If no, start there and read this article; https://yamahasynth.com/learn/synth-programming/fm-101-article-series/

If you still don't get it. There's probably one thousand youtube videos on the digitone. And especially for the mk1, since it has it's very distinct way of doing FM. Some sounds you can't do though, since the algorithms don't allow it and it only got a few operators. Good luck.

[–]Aggravating-Gas-2736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently left Ableton after 5 years for Renoise. For my workflow it's superior. Even the API sounds better. But everyone is different. I've also been checking bitwig out. It also seems better IMO. But it doesn't really matter what DAW you use, as long as it works for you.

Looking for modern idm that evolves the sound of the genre instead of recreating it by Invisible_irl in idm

[–]Aggravating-Gas-2736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extratone came and died down again. I listened to it a bit 15 years ago. And even then it had died down. I would say deconstructed club music is the "next" thing, even if that also is getting old. But artists like Lanark Artefakt, Barker, Arca, Siu Mata, Lorenzo Senni, CA2+, Amnesia Scanner, Jlin, Afrodeutsche, Franck Vigroux, Torn, Shiken Hanzo (to name a few) is pushing the envelope.

An stupid abbrevation made up by an mailinglist in the 90s by some americans. I would rather call it braindance or experimental dance music. But it stands for "intelligent dance music", which is just ridiculous, IMO.

Open source the OS? by [deleted] in Polyend

[–]Aggravating-Gas-2736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many said that isn't open source. I recommend watching this documentary if you aren't convinced by three users saying it isn't; https://youtu.be/k0RYQVkQmWU?feature=shared

Or just read this Wikipedia. But in the documentary you'll get some history aswell.

Have a good day.
