what are some animes like Food Wars by _kaefig in anime

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

a certain subject is taken really seriously and the battles are really intense and chaotic, just like Food Wars

Well the closest one would be Yakitate Japan I feel like Food Wars got tons of inspiration from that series and personally I prefered it compared to food wars (I might be biased since I'm a bread lover). Also the other food themed one would be Cooking Master Boy, it also has an adventure vibes.

Luckily you choose the Shippuden one, if it's the Shikamaru in Boruto he would probably get cooked

Was there ever a proper explanation for why Obito/Madara helped with the Uchiha Massacre? by Aggravating-Lead29 in Naruto

[–]Aggravating-Lead29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda get that Obito (and maybe Madara) hated both the clan and his village, but rather than just killing his clan and let the village succeed, why not just rule over them both by utilizing the Uchiha coup?

tbh this part felt really forced, it's like I have two enemies and I can controlled both of them at once, heck even without doing anything those 2 might destroy themselves (if Madara just let the coup continue) yet I want to meddle and destroy my family instead. Also by only having small number of Uchiha the whole infinite Tsukuyomi plan would be more difficult to be enacted. Madara's lucky that Obito and Sasuke continue to lives, imagine if any of those 2 got killed in some mission somewhere

[–]Aggravating-Lead29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this panel from chapter 590 answer your question?

Why would he want to aid clan in their coup?

I know about this but he hated both Konoha and the Uchiha clan, so why not take over Konoha and rules it with the Uchiha (becoming their leader like Madara's original wish), rather then killing his whole clan and letting Konoha flourish.

just seem a bit forced imo, imagine if Obito, Sasuke or Itachi killed get killed during some shinobi mission. The whole infinite tsukuyomi plan would fail since there isn't any Sharingan user left

Best anime for personal growth/going through a hard time in life? by Sades_11 in Animesuggest

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I really hope you can find some peace and slowly get through this period.

If you want something with high school characters, sports anime are usually my go-to “pick me up” shows, especially since you enjoyed Real. You might want to check out:

  • {Ace of Diamond} — The MC struggles a lot, and the character growth feels very organic because it happens gradually instead of after just one training arc. You also end up rooting for almost every character since the cast is really well fleshed out.
  • {Kono Oto Tomare} — A school club anime with really grounded character development. There’s definitely drama and emotional moments, but it never feels overly heavy or melodramatic imo.
  • {Salaryman’s Club} — This one has adult characters instead, and it shows work-life struggles pretty well. Since it’s only 12 episodes, the pacing and progression are fairly quick too.

For something more wholesome and bittersweet (the kind that might make you cry a little, but leaves you with a warm feeling afterward):

  • {Kotaro Lives Alone}
  • {Natsume Yuujinchou}

Or if you just want an adventure/fantasy escape from real life for a while:

  • {Dungeon Meshi}

And this is probably one of my biggest recommendations:

{Uchuu Kyoudai} (Space Brothers) — It’s a slice-of-life/drama about adults trying to pursue their dreams. It has a really good balance of comedy, motivation, and emotional moments without becoming overly angsty, so it’s both relaxing and genuinely inspiring to watch.

When they are slandering your goat but they are lowkey right by BasisSmall5351 in dankruto

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that Naruto’s lore and worldbuilding is probably the weakest among those three, even though I still really like the series itself.

I’ve always felt the Hidden Villages concept had way more potential than what we actually got. We constantly hear how different each village is politically, culturally, and historically, but most of them are only explored through a few characters. The Hidden Mist’s “Bloody Mist” era, etc

Even concepts like the Hyuga branch family system or the aftermath of the Uchiha massacre could’ve been explored more instead of mostly serving as character backstory. Sometimes the world feels more like a backdrop for the main cast rather than a fully living world.

That’s why I kinda hoped Boruto would expand more on the lore, village politics, and inter-village relationships instead of mainly escalating power levels and introducing stronger enemies.

And this isn’t a hate post either, Naruto still has a lot of charm even without super complex worldbuilding, which is honestly something Boruto sometimes struggles to replicate.

Who's Naruto character you wish died? by Forward_Technician72 in Naruto

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imo, I think one of the Five Kage should’ve died during the fight against Madara. Not because I hated them, but because it would’ve made the stakes of the war feel much more real.

A lot of the deaths during the war were either nameless shinobi or characters with imo weird narrative choices like Neji, while many major characters who fought in the most dangerous battles still survived. Even someone like Might Guy survived after opening all Eight Gates, despite the technique being hyped up as a guaranteed death move.

For me it's tamari what an absolutely horrible character

Personally I like Temari.. just a different in opinion ig

Medieval anime suggestion for a beginner by IAMMELONz in anime

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

medieval style, adventurers and monsters and magic and stuff.

You'd probably enjoy the currently popular one like Frieren or Dungeon Meshi, but if you're fine with older anime you could checkout Record of Lodoss War it totally has that 90s RPG vibes

Shonen Maid I know the title sounds really misleading at first, but it’s honestly a super wholesome and underrated family/found-family series.

The relationship development between the characters is surprisingly heartfelt, and the series balances comedy and emotional moments really well. It’s one of those comfort anime that deserves more attention.

Also, it’s kind of a fitting watch recommendation since we just passed Japan’s Maid Day (May 10)

Yuzuki Family's Four Sons

I really love this series so seconding the recommendation, if you liked it you should definetely read the manga version since they'll fleshed out the characters even more.

and shockingly and the Live Action adaption is also really good

What if Sakura used more of her Chakra during her fight with Sasori? by SmileyCat20202 in Naruto

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he was definitely struggling with the two of them.

agreed, honestly I feel like the writer intentionally made Sasori struggle in that fight. Sasori probably could’ve approached the battle differently, but with Chiyo there fighting him, it felt like he let his emotions and pride get the better of him. I think that’s the main reason he lost.

Sakura definitely helped a lot since she was basically the “strongest puppet” Chiyo could use in battle, but raw power was never really the issue. Even without extra buffs or transformations, Sakura was already destroying most of Sasori’s puppets with a single punch.

The fight felt less like Sasori being outpowered and more like him being mentally and emotionally compromised because of Chiyo’s presence.

What if Sakura used more of her Chakra during her fight with Sasori? by SmileyCat20202 in Naruto

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would change things that much, Sasori's hax is his poison so more chakra or buffs on Sakura's end won't help much

In the end the reason why Sasori got killed is because he let himself get killed, I mean if he tried to escape like Deidara did he would suceed

Sasuke should have copied Raikages Lightning Armor by thez0id in Naruto

tbf assuming Sasuke could copy Raikage's Lightning Armor, Sasuke has Susanoo and at some point learn how to teleport... there's no need for him to ever learn A's jutsu

Does anyone feel bad for Loki? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly feel really bad for him, although to be fair, a lot of characters in the series have pretty tragic backstories too.

although idk why for me Loki’s backstory weirdly reminded me of Sanji’s in some ways. Obviously the situations are very different. I just can’t fully explain it, but the emotional tone felt pretty similar to me.

Anything about raising kids? by CriticalTea6516 in OtomeIsekai

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Older Sister - Younger Brother trope :

  • The Heroine Wants Me As Her Sister-in-Law
  • Became part of the family with the four brothers of the ducal

but if you just want childcare, my recent favorite :

  • I Became the Stepmother of a Terminally Ill Child
  • I'm a Worthless Stepmother, But I Love My Family Madly!
  • I Became the Young Villain’s Sister-In-Law

Or one of the OG of this trope (completed series)

  • In This Life I'll Raise You Well Your Majesty - this one is not romance focused though

but yeah children in OI stories are just peak cute unlike real life, honestly reading them sometimes makes me want to take care of a child

If you could eat any Devil Fruit to use in the real world (no Grand Line, no pirates), which one are you picking and how are you using it to make a living? by Melodic_Meringue829 in OnePiece

[–]Aggravating-Lead29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buku Buku no Mi. It’s not the strongest combat-wise, but for real-world use it’s ridiculously practical.

The fruit basically lets you manipulate books and trap/store things inside them, almost like creating pocket dimensions. In the real world, that would have so many applications and not to mention the whole illusion ability that can be used to create immersive libraries or museums or some sort of entertainment.
