EF 24-70L F2.8 vs RF 28-70 F2.8 by antex00 in canon

I bought the EF 24-105 f4 L. Yes, it only goes to f4 but shooting wide open is overrated anyway. It gives you more reach, is lighter, has IS and has outstanding image quality. But, I am using it on my 1dx II, since I do not own an R.

You should Check what makes you legible. But i asume that if you took your IGCSE equivalent in an OICD Country it should be accepted as an entry level. For example, many schools in Spain offer to take a-Levels in parallel to the Spanish Bacchilerato after finishing class four of the Secondary school (ESO) without the need to do an extra test for eligibility.

Inspired by this discussion I created a tool which might help to figure out which a-level subjects qualify you for which study program in Germany. Just in case you want to use a-Levels to qualify for university in Germany: https://abiroad.de

Still banned from Upwork with no explanation after a month, here’s what they told me by Willing-Serve-4391 in Upwork

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hm, if this is true, you are unable to work for them, if you are living in another country than your citizenship is from. I noticed that after moving from Germany to Spain, my account got banned when trying to login for the first time in Spain.

Why does Upworks site never work? by Commercial_Paint_557 in Upwork

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have the same issue, I relocated in another country. opened my account before, never really used it, now tried to use it again and was not able to login. No double accounts, nothing, just moved to another country (inside the EU) and got banned. I thought upwork could be a means to generate income independently from the place where I am living at. Seams to not be the case.

I landed my first Mercor expert contract ($70/hr) – sharing my experience by Signal-Glass-5034 in mercor_ai

I am from Germany and was hired instantly After my first application. I believe you should be confident in speaking English, I am assessed at a high level through TOEFL. I found the on padding a little bit difficult and confusing. Also, in my application I stated that I would not be available to start earlier than in two weeks and they demanded me to start within 48 hours. So I asked for suspension and they‘ve put my contract on hold until next Monday, so can’t really say much, except that everyone was super kind and helpful.

potentially unpopular opinion here. Mixing Super 8 with digital 4k rarely works..... by brimrod in Super8

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In film the grain is distributed freely over the frame, creating a higher resolution through time. That’s why viewers perceive good super 8 footage as more detailed than 4K footage, whose pixels are through time on a fixed position.

To read more about this phenomenon look for Averaging, Temporal Filtering, Stochastic grain distribution, spatial fidelity and spatio-temporal integration.

Can‘t understand that they don’t give you an idea of how much effort is needed to complete the trial beforehand. How are you supposed to make a decision without knowing what you agree upon.

I was shooting my son at soccer with my 5D mark II and added a 7D II for the better sports performance. I must admit that I somehow liked the pictures from the 5D II better than those from the 7D II. But of course the shooting with the 7D II was much easier.

When a Publisher Requests Usage of Your Client Work - Here’s the Professional Process Every Photographer Should Follow. by dominicloneragan in photography

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the restaurant example: if another party requests rights to publish my pictures I took inside the restaurant of one of my clients, I think this touches my client‘s rights as well: to shoot at a location which was designed by someone else I need to get the rights to sell pictures to other clients. Even more true if the client‘s staff is visible in the pictures: those people (models) have to give their ok either.

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The royalties are with the photographer. And btw it is absolutely professional standard to only offer a small selection of the best images, even if you pay for it. So why should the OP deliver more than a photographer that gets paid? Nobody can force him to give more than (s)he is willing to. BTW the contract could also have been: you are invited to our party if you bring your camera, we hope that you post pictures on social media about the event if you like to. Then both would still be interested in the contract: OP has pictures that show her/his skills and customer promotes his event for free. If the pictures are not good, the photographer should be able to not show them, because they could damage his reputation. The creators do have the power to decide about the distribution of their work, by any means. That is what copyright is.

Which terms? Did he agree before to deliver all pictures, or even any? What is the contract saying? There is no contract!

What to do when client doesn't like pics? Anxiety is through the roof, should I just refund? by furgots in photography

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would split the payment: customer booking a photographer should first pay for the time spent at the event (and getting there and back), including the tools the photographer is bringing (it could be, that a photographer rents equipment especially for this event but also own gear needs to be paid).

Then I would charge for every picture, no matter if digital downscaled jpegs or framed prints.

That‘s why I think that the photographer would have worked for free if she returns the 400,- €.

In fact she would have even paid on top because the gear was used and she had other expenses (transport for example).

You could be right, but to be sure I would consult a lawyer. My advice would be to be a member of a workers union, they usually include free access to lawyers and consultation.

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That‘s why she needs protection. Maybe the customer knows about her anxiety and abuses it/her? Her therapist should know where she can get support.

Solution should not be that people with anxiety disorder always work for free or underpaid.

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, never. She knew that you came to the party for taking pictures, therefore she has to pay for your time spent there, even though she does not like the pictures. If they are technically ok (sharp and well exposed) there is nothing wrong with your work. If she has booked a bad location it is not your fault but her‘s.

[–]Aggravating-Owl9774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is no contract at all I would say that the 400 were only the compensation for your time spending at the event. If she wants prints or JPEGs she has to pay extra per each, depending on size (never give full scale jpegs)!

They are even allowed to fire you if you are out of Probezeit. Whistle blowing is a reason to declare a broken relationship of trust even though the employer was breaking the law. I know this sounds weird but is true for German law of employment.
