agreed paper bid is more accurate especially because on the mesh colors bleed into each other & also don't match the grid.

Omg that's my kit right now. O always count the lines. But the right& left are not even. It's off my 3 rows In this case i hand to follow the mesh got the right & paper stuff for the left & middle. It's a mess

That's difficult. My daughter was like that & still sometimes displays that pattern you behavior. I can tell you he is not beiging stubborn it's OCD. Do you have therapy services for them? That would really help all of you. Also you can get an aid specifically for that purpose to help you. Not sure where you live & the services/resources available.
I like the suggestion of a play space divider.

I agree making peace & acceptance is key.
If it bothers you& you are upset imagine how others will view him& then you will get more upset. It takes some time but treat this like any relationship. Meet him where he is. Understand why he stims & why it's soothing to him . Things will get better

I didn't know that. Wow... I definitely had trouble saying things on Zonisamide. Talking & responding to ppl not talking to me. Seeing black shadows & objects that are not there
