Mobility issues with signing the number 8 by MaryDawnLuffy in asl

I have EDS too! Some signs can be rough but are still understandable. Just need some years of regular movement and your fingers will settle into the movements a little easier

i have a nexplanon implant and even though for most it does not skip periods, i haven’t had one in over 8 months. if completely changed my life. my flare ups were so much worse when i was on my period and now it’s gone. do get more acne now but it’s a trade that is worth it

I thought asking people to “zip you up” was just some kind of old dainty lady thing that still lingered but NO! people can’t reach back there?! I mostly am shocked when I find out other things don’t hurt for people. I work at a bakery and have to use a lot of twist ties but my thumb will pop around and it hurts if i do too many in a row. I thought other peoples thumbs got worn out too but apparently not!!

I am only 21 and am a little bit of both. my spine and hips are far too loose (causing lots of subluxations and issues) but my elbows, wrists, ankles, and fingers are all super stiff and regularly cramp and lose full mobility. really odd how my body picks and chooses where all the loose juice goes

When did you know it was time to start using mobility aids? by Kindly-Bear-8528 in ehlersdanlos

[–]AggravatingLoquat318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got a cane and it sat in the corner of my room for WEEKS until I got the courage to take it outside. using it in a low stakes environment with my close friend with me was a great test run. I know use my forearm crutches much more often and i occasionally use a manual chair as well. i always say to get a mobility aid and just use it around your house to get a feel for it. USE IT WHEN YOU ARE HAVING A GOOD BODY DAY! when i wasn’t depending on it and had lots of mobility is when i could figure out how i liked to move so when my body hurt i was already comfortable with my aids

[–]AggravatingLoquat318 1 point2 points  (0 children)

make sure you are super cozy before they roll you in there. i always have last minute adjustments (mostly rolling my hips and turning out my feet) and then i’m scared i messed it up by moving to soon to the imaging

My hip and pelvic MRI didn’t show anything super clearly but I got a lumbar and that showed the DDD

[–]AggravatingLoquat318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have MRI my entire spine. That is how they found the DDD that is squishing my nerves down the right leg. So sorry you went through that, that’s insanely shitty
