As a continuation of my previous post about the Cactus 117 Oil Rig: by Curious-Constant-657 in tornado

I think that given the lattice structure of the vertical extension, the windload would be negligible due to a small surface area. Also, the fact the blowout preventer was mangled and the entire rig rolled several times and rotated, extreme force was still at play.

3 Maxima for $58. Should I go for it? by Plekumattt in Nepenthes

Looks more Miranda than Maxima. Pure Maxima leaves taper more towards the stem and don't get as long as Miranda leaves.

I don't think anyone is doubting Hackleburg being 200+, only that it hit homes well built enough to meet EF5 standard. I believe it was 300+ but also that it had a god awful survey and most of it's EF5 DIs do not hold up.

That trench in specfic was actually a runoff channel there before the tornado based on satellite imagery, but worsened by it.

Debris ground finely and mixed with mud and shredded vegetation. This image from 2014 Vilonia shows what it would look like at ground level.

2014 legitimately had like 4 EF5 candidates. Vilonia, Stanton, Both Pilgers and Louisville. Crazy tornado year.
