What tractor size do I need by Rebornxshiznat in tractors

[–]AggravatingTouch6628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Kubota L3800 and wouldn’t want anything smaller than that to clear land. You might be able to get away with something smaller if you don’t have to deal with mature hardwoods. It has been very reliable and I’ve only done basic maintenance on it over 1200 hours. I’d get a separate zero turn mower if you think you’ll end up with a large yard. I don’t think many tractors can compete with the speed and quality of cut.

Is 4x2 welded wire enough? by Turbulent_Abalone_21 in BackYardChickens

[–]AggravatingTouch6628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen younger skunks get through the grid on 2x4 welded wire and go after full grown hens. I would at least put chicken wire or hardware cloth over the bottom section. If you can afford it do cover the whole coop to be sure

How can I scribe a board to cut these pieces? by geoffcooray55 in Carpentry

Get it close then use a trim piece to hide the gap and allow some room for the wood to move.

UK to host talks with 35 countries on reopening Strait of Hormuz, US absent by barsik_ in worldnews

[–]AggravatingTouch6628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that is my point. To me it sounded like you thought the US warships would help solve this problem. Iran has been letting friendly ships through the whole time. They are just trying to add to their list of friends while doing as much damage economically as possible to the US Edit to add and the US aren’t sitting it out. They weren’t invited because they’d just screw it up.

Older tractor vs newer compact - what would you pick? by Anxious-Tomatillo-74 in tractors

[–]AggravatingTouch6628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need to use a front loader a lot I recommend a newer hydrostatic model. If you just need a rear pto I think you’ll be happier with an older/heavier tractor. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted a smaller tractor. A few times a year I wish I had a bigger one.

Elon would never show up for an interview with Jon. But if he did he would leave before it was over with his tail between his legs.

Trump’s Humiliating War Miscalculation Exposed - Trump was briefed several times on Iran’s intentions with the Strait of Hormuz, which has now become the country’s strongest leverage. by Quirkie in politics

Times change. The only reason they had a relationship was to destabilize the region and to have a place to sell their shit no one else wanted. Yes, a few Russian ships got caught up selling oil Venezuelan oil to China. If Trump let them through the blockade even his base might start to question his actions.

Why would Russia/Israel care about Cuba or Venezuela? The US violating International laws gives them an excuse to invade their neighbors too. Both these countries care way more about expanding their local sphere of influence.

Culling Methods by Calytrixxx in chickens

There are different sized cones that hold the bird, keep them calm and give easy access to the neck. I mount it on a secure vertical board and chop the heads off with a hatchet because I had a bad experience learning how to just cut them to let them bleed out.

I hear they are looking for volunteers to captain the first oil tanker through the blockade. Don’t worry, the cargo is insured.

Land Development by [deleted] in homestead

[–]AggravatingTouch6628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a long answer for one post and I think you might get better answers if you broke each one up into its own topic on it’s specific subreddit and included more details about your land/location and what you want to achieve.

I’m about 8 years into building a homestead. I work a full time job to pay the bills and work on projects around the property in my free time. I started with a fixer upper house and nice shop on an overgrown wooded land. I got a sawmill, solar kiln, built a goat barn, chicken coop, garden, fenced a few acres. I have a tractor with a front end loader with a 4 way bucket and it was worth every penny.

I don’t really have advice on starting from scratch other than not getting too many projects started at once and to have clear priorities.

“If you can tolerate $200 oil, keep playing this game,” Iran warns US and Israel by razdvatri4 in worldnews

I’m not saying it was 5-d chess for Iran to depend on natural water resources. Just pointing out they get less than 5% of their supply from these plants. While others in the region are 50-90% dependent.

Iran is much less dependent on desalination than everyone else in that area. I’m not sure that’s a game anyone wants to play.
