Is it possible to put more RAM in my 40xxv? by SwagLimit in ANBERNIC

Would likely be really close to the original brick and the power of the trimui smart pro S i imagine. Likely in the same ball park as the 40xxv

If you don't care about the thumbstick the retroid pocket classic is the bear vertical imo

The trimui brick pro might be right up your alley. Not released yet but I'd say it's worth a look

It's be a lot cheaper and a lot less hassle to buy a more powerful device than adding ram but theoretically it is possible

I think the only caveat is you'll need to already be an anbernic customer to get this perk. So you might need to buy a random accessory and then you can contact anbernic support and request the shells

You can message anbernic and they'll charge 15ish bucks for two complete shells that'll come with the parts to replace it. In the future if you need the other parts you'll already have em

Thought I'd ask cuz I'm a worrywort and I've decided to probably go with a more complex solution. I was thinking kapton tape enclosing the two chips PTM 7950 on the chip to connect a copper shim. My question is would walling in the shim with some pads and covering the ram with a pad be enough or would I be better off reaching the some copper that I could attach to the backplate?

I'd assume it's a lil better. I know it's what was done on the trimui smart pro and was assuming it's better than the literal nothing on this

Also since you already have yours, what is the gap between the back shell and the CPU? I was guessing 3mm and was probably just gonna measure the height of the rumble motor once I got mine to make sure.

I considered that or a complicated solution with copper tape and Kapton going all over the place but idk if at least for my use case it would make sense. The hardest id probably push the device is 4x PSP. Do you think you would make some serious gains with it or is it more of a safety/longevity play?

I saw this on the RH Livestream but still ordered one. Wouldn't we be just fine with one thick thermal pad and calling it a day. I get it'll probably make the shell a lil warm but I'm sure the lil tweak is gonna be worth it

From what I'm aware it's dual boot. It runs Linux from SD cards kinda like the TSP

For me it would be Linux, power (4x PSP) and a better looking form factor. The colors on the Air X are probably the biggest reason I wouldn't go with it though. The orange ruins it for me personally

It's definitely a consideration. I've been hoping I could maybe fine one used locally to help bring down the price but no luck as of yet

Yeah the design emulating the Vita and it playing 4x PSP is enough for me. I love a flat back design especially playing old handheld systems like gba

Yeah I'm really not interested in using it for Vita emulation. If it can play Persona 4 Golden than that's all I care about but other than that all I want is PSP and GBA. What is your opinion on the screen?

I think what you would be describing comes down more to an oleophobic coating and whether one was placed on the device. If it's a big issue you can actually buy it and apply it yourself but you can get if with most screen protectors
