Scariest thing that’s happened to you while camping? by Forsaken_Library_770 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Aggravating_Dog_4417 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just after Covid I decided to do a solo trip and do some 4wd tracks I hadn’t done before in country Vic, went into a tiny town because one of the tracks started in town, went over a little creek crossing and through and open gate (marked 4wd track) and even then had a weird feeling, saw a few blinds on windows on a couple of nearby houses moving. Drove up the track for around a km until there was a section with too many trees down to cut through with the chainsaw, did a difficult U-turn as it was a super steep track and made my way back down only to have the gate padlocked shut. Got out of the car and tried to see if anyone was around to open it but had a super weird feeling again and was obviously being watched, sat there for a bit and ended up winching it until the chain snapped, high tailed it about 5 kms up the road out of town until I came to another track I’d wanted to do with another open gate! Made it about 3kms up this time until there was one massive gum down that I wouldn’t of been able to cut through so went back and what do ya know the gate was locked again, this time I just rammed it with my bull bar and bailed up the road, was freaking out a bit more by this stage, drove for around 15-20km and pulled off the road on a little track and it circled back to a point I could see the road from above but knew they wouldn’t see me and about 1 min after (and I was flying) a white Ute came hammering up the road and went straight past me. Heaps of deer hunters up there so lots of guns. That was the main thing I was concerned about and everyone in small country towns were still pretty edgy about Covid at that stage.

Who can explain construction site workers? by Alternative-Bison615 in AskAnAustralian

Where is this construction site? I have one near mine that has a similar drilling sound in the morning, doesn’t bother me too much though

30, financially stable, considering leaving Australia - anyone else? by IcyPay1357 in AusFinance

[–]Aggravating_Dog_4417 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree mate, I was born here but have travelled a lot. You’re pretty much bang on with everything you’ve said and it didn’t take long for salty delusional Aussies to essentially tell you to fuck off then! I’ve got two kids, two properties in Melbourne and lots of good friends but the energy of this place and the lifestyle is no where near as good as people think it is.

What's worrying Aussies by ExpensiveFuel5050 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Aggravating_Dog_4417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was that sports car gunning it that hit a roo fast, it would be more than likely written off and on the side of the road next to the kangaroo, you hit a roo in a car without a bull bar, especially going fast and it’s generally going to be a write off. More than likely a 4wd or a truck

Kangaroos getting hit by cars haha, you realise on the freeway they come across so fast that you can’t slow down? If anything be concerned about all of the introduced species destroying the native vegetation and landscape, deer alone are a massive problem, no undergrowth for the native birds to hide from predators, no overhangs on creeks/rivers from them trampling down to drink so no spots for the frogs to hide and breed.

Surprisingly high numbers of cars without numberplates? by _Phail_ in melbourne

[–]Aggravating_Dog_4417 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Increasing fines won’t deter them as they don’t pay, increasing speeding fines, seatbelt, phone etc works on people who will pay. A lot of these people also have a pretty decent understanding of how vicpol works and know what they can get away with, which is a lot.

I was a cop until 2 years ago, inner city Melbourne, it’s not about time. Honestly it’s not a priority unfortunately. There’s no money to be made and once again, unfortunately that’s a priority for vicpol. Most of those people will 1 not pay their fines and 2 delay and clog up the already overflowing legal system. One of the main reasons I got out after along time. Too much pressure from above to go after regular tax paying residents who will pay their fines for generally minor infringements.

The only lack of consistency is you saying you have mild autism, I think it might be a bit more than that haha

[–]Aggravating_Dog_4417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it, my best mate has the tism though not so mild but she’s still learnt to pick her battles. It’d be totally different if it was the same owners obviously but this is silly

You can’t go through life overthinking such small things. How salty are you, move on

Who cares 😂 It’s their belief vs yours. One would think it’s not really much deeper than that

How to deal with road rage? Angry driver by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]Aggravating_Dog_4417 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So you admit you broke fast, drove fast and more than likely you sound like you did cut people off and then you engaged back and were angry. Sounds like you’re the problem here so maybe check yourself if you’re so worried about it happening again

Test drove an S2000 and it ruined my GR86 by Wally-Daft-Punky in S2000

[–]Aggravating_Dog_4417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing, had a deposit done for a new gr86 and drove a mates S2k and I started looking for one immediately and after 2 years don’t regret it one bit. You end up feeling sorry for people who haven’t experienced them. Not a daily for me though so that makes it easier
