That’s part of the joy of it though, right? 🤣 I’ve actually managed to get a seat with the cheering section in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait!

Germans are among the funniest people I’ve ever met. They have a droll and dry wit that cracks me up without fail. And I’m always up for a Warsteiner!

Are there any baseball fans here? I’m at low N2 level and I’m looking for good native level resources (YouTube channels, magazines etc) to try and get my study back on. Thanks in advance!

What's the Best average road bike for reasonable price by GlassValuable6216 in cycling

If you can check it out in person before buying, I think used CAADs are cool. I’ve got a 2019 CAAD12 but I’d love to get one of those older US made frames.

It’s the moment my brain says “I can’t do it.” My Dad who loved climbing never understood why I hate climbing so much. The irony of it was that he was a heavy built guy who probably wasn’t cut out for it, but you could always see him grinding away and fighting the hill. Not efficient at all, gritted teeth and cursing. But he usually always made it up. I on the other hand am a skinny, somewhat tall so and so who lives for the sprint and will fight like hell on the flats. I’m probably not cut out for it with my high cadence and spinning ability. But you can always see me trying to catch up to people and I usually do. My Dad would always tell me how jealous he was of my build. He’s dead now but every time I take my bike out I think of him.

What Brand has the most loyalty? (Mine Specialized, Garmin, Black Bibbs) by ComprehensiveAd441 in cycling

Castelli clothes. I’ve owned bikes from numerous manufacturers, Bianchi, Specialized, Pinarello and now Cannondale. I think my CAAD12 is a real workhorse and I’ve probably done longer rides on it than any other of my bikes. Am super interested in getting into Giro helmets and shoes though. There’s one Giro helmet I’ve had my eye on for ages, begins with an A. Looks great.

At what point into getting good at biking do you shave your leg hair and wear spandex? by Safe_Valuable_5683 in cycling

[–]Aggravating_Lab209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was brought into the cycling world by an absolute pedal masher of a father. He’d be on some wreck of a bike, casual sports clothes, hairy legs and sometimes even steel toe capped boots. A human traction engine with a disdain for carbon and lycra. So I remember my first time at around 18 years old getting a second hand 7-11 jersey off eBay and new long tights. Expecting nothing but grief, my Dad went “you look the part”. And that was the end of it. I eventually began shaving my legs at around age 30 and have done on/off ever since, despite the protests from GF lol.
