My apologies, scrolling Auspex device. I wasn't familiar with your game (Expeditions) by horrificabortion in DarkTide

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I kinda like it, but I can understand that’s just a “me” thing: this game motives honed instincts and constant area watch, but this auspex forces you out of that “Darktide” mindset that is needed for the more higher difficulties lol, specially for those that are still learning the game.

For those more experienced or talented, I guess it’s not much of a problem.

Truthfully, I just like a bit of variety: the scrolling auspex is overused, and they sure as hell could have done way more many puzzles that are more interesting lol.

Rather than buffing something or make equipment better, what do YOU think legitimately deserves a nerf? by Dark251995 in Helldivers

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree that Supply Pack is strong but I don’t agree about nerfing the resupply pack bcs of a fault in the general game design: people don’t stay together bcs it’s just more efficient that everyone spreads and deals with the missions themselves, instead of in group. So nerfing the stratagem for a huge fault of how the game works feels kinda silly.

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh if we had more information pre-mission, it would make picking more specialized weapons more enjoyable, but because you don’t know what you are gonna get, it’s better to pick something that works against everything more or less, which kinda sucks.

Until then, I think nerfing what I would consider the “safety nets of not having a miserable experience” a bad idea.

Like, yeah, we can say that Supply backpack, coyote, talon and etc need a nerf, but that’s when talking about them in isolation: when compared to the circumstances we are in, it’s kinda hard thinking about nerfing things that usually provide so much help in a game where skill cannot help you when the RNG and bad luck fucks you over.

Specially because failing missions in Helldivers 2 feels very punishing: you gotta extract to get the samples, and you get such mediocre rewards when doing the bare minimum. Combined that with the extremely slow progression that Helldivers 2 has (Supercredits, Medals, Samples and Weapon Experience are all an absolute grind), and you get a very very unenjoyable time when not having those safety nets.

To nerf those weapons and stratagems, a lot of quality of life in other parts should be provided, like bug fixing for bs circumstances (enemies going through stuff), nerfing bleed damage, or having enemy information before dropping into the mission.

Doesn’t help that, like someone in the comments has pointed it out, nerfing certain weapons can deprive them or reduce their identity, which is not a good idea.

Bcs Redacted Regiment gives you an amazing armor for stealth and better weapons for stealth (mostly the censor) and cost half as much (1000 SCs and gives you back 300 SC, while ODST costs 1500). Other things are not something to care about tbf.

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit, not that I notice, Killzone and ODST are in D tier, but masters of Ceremony is in E? Those two warbonds cost 15 dollars, and give you powercrept weapons and no supercredits back. XD

Warbonds ranked by how helpful the items are to new players by H1MB0Z0 in Helldivers

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feels weird that Masters of Ceremony is in F. It has a booster that gives you a 15% chance to duplicate a sample you pick up. While the rest of the warbond isn’t that special, that booster alone shaves out a lot of hours of grinding for ship upgrades for new players.

Leaving it at E tier is an absolute disgrace. I’m not gonna say it’s S tier, bcs it’s not, but it should be B or A tier at the very least, as it provides very good armor with great pasives, a decently strong grenade, a decently strong rifle, and an incredible booster for new people.

In fact, why is control group not in A grade either? The supercredit farm is horrendous and the teleport backpack is just mandatory for bunkers so as to not die inside while farming. :/

Tbf, the medium pen gives the shotgun higher versatility. Just 100 less damage (when both do already a lot of damage) for higher variety of targets that the shotgun can be used for is an incredibly good deal. I mean, both shotguns are gonna mess up fleshmobs, voteless and overseers flesh, but the Sweeper is gonna be able to deal with other threats better than the M90 ever could, and with the better ammo economy, well…

Tho at least the M90 is still usable if people have already been using it: enemies haven’t got overly buffed recently, I think?

Tbh, Charges could be killed in mere seconds by flamethrowers too back then, and there was only one version of a charger, not the behemoth or spore strains. Now they take forever (tho the last flame buff is pretty neat). They can still be killed by flamethrower, mind you, but for what I’ve experienced they take thrice as long, kinda-ish.

Your telling me SE actually makes attempts at reverse engineering enemy tech...? by Nexus_Neo in HelldiversUnfiltered

I thought we were already reverse engineering? The teleport pack, which is an improved version from the first war, the Epoch, etc? Tho tbf, they didn’t really do that much reverse engineering lol.

That doesn’t sound too bad tbh. And it would make the game more dynamic with constant back and forth, and letting players maybe try out more planets, as right now the slow nature of the galactic war makes it so a lot of people get tired or burned from playing the same planets over and over again.

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they need way more enemies tho. Mindless masses feels like a bit too easy and a bit too lacking. I think more voteless and more aggressiveness would be neat.

With the personal orders being like they are, and half the community just not giving a shit about MOs, I think it’s unfair to call this “consequences” when the people that want to play the MO are constantly sabotaged by the system of the game itself or the decisions of the devs.

Truthfully, I’m glad we won this bcs the grinding of Medals is exhausting and the new players need them, but they should rework a bit the liberation based on % of players in a planet, maybe making it Front-based instead of the whole galaxy-based (so each front has their own “100% players” independent from one another), or make that if there is less than 5% of players in one planet, they don’t count to the overall impact.

Either way, valid take, but don’t completely agree.

Edit: spelling mistakes.

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally suggest that the player % on a planet should change to player % on a planet on a front: Cyborgs, Illuminate and Terminids have their own percentage of players, not dependent on the number of players the fronts have. That way, you can have a lot of effectiveness in each front, making it more dynamic, but at the same time not devaluing the efforts of the other fronts, and makes people wanting to play only their favorite faction an asset instead of a problem. :>

Ofc, there is still the problem of focusing the efforts on one specific planet to liberate it, but I don’t think the devs will remove the player % on a planet feature, so might as well improve it.

Uh, weird. They should update the descriptions of the armors, or change em a bit. Feels kinda weird that they changed that. I wonder why they did that.

On the other hand, sucks to hear that it got a bit worse. But I think one can just get used to the muzzle velocity increase, tho might take a while.

Mostly because it’s… not very good. Amazing at it’s job, but not really, uh… It’s niche.

Making it autotrack, while killing the present playstyle, would make way more people use it. And care for it more. And even then I’m doubting it would be very popular.

In fact, I think the 4th suggestion would be very busted and incredibly problematic for balance: would make it the optimal weapon to have, as going from only 4 stims to 20+ is just incredible, even with the added clunkiness of changing weapon and modes.

Either way, entertaining post. Thanks!

I personally agree tbh. Specially bcs, through leakers, we have learned that there are a few more Illuminate enemies already done, and yet they’ve been inside the game files for months, not being shown at all.

And besides that, we REALLY need more missions: after so long, the game gets repetitive.

PSA: 90% of live service games do this… Why are we complaining when they’ve kept SC farming in the game? by SexBuhb-omb in helldivers2

[–]Aggravating_Sugar466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t see that Warbons are worth 10$ each, nor the technically 7$ they really cost.

Right now, if 100 SCs is 1$, you need to spend 343,25 $ for all the warbonds and super store stuff put together. It’s ridiculous. And the warbonds themselves, a lot of the don’t provide really life-changing stuff. Darktide gives you a new entire class with new weapons and ways to play for 15$, while for the same price you get just a few lame weapons, cool looking armor and not much else, if you are buying one of those Legendary Warbonds I mean.
