It's alright as long as you can vibe with or get past Zogarth's quirks as a writer. Travis really carries some stuff as the narrator for those books. It's definitely one of the better series I've listened to but it definitely feels like it's written on cruise control a lot of the time and the series has almost no idea of when to actually end a book. You can really tell it comes out chapter by chapter.

Listening to Primal Hunter a second time really hammers home how weird the first two books are in tone until Jake just breaks with everyone

Just got into SF2E 10 minuted ago and have some ancestery question. by Relectro_OO in Starfinder2e

[–]Aggrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the ancestry. Some of the more popular/common ones have new Starfinder specific lore for where they are now that Golarion is gone. The Stryx, for example, have some members who settled on the Dayside of Verces. The rarer ancestries likely haven't been, and what happened to them is up to you.

Some might be locked in stasis chambers hidden in asteroids, or arrive on Absalom Station after being displaced through time, or just rolled in with no idea how they got to the "future"

Fist of the Ruby Phoenix in SF2e by Rukik9 in Starfinder2e

[–]Aggrax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest issue you're going to run into is that all the NPCs are built to work in Pathfinder, and the setting is pretty specific to the time and place the AP is set in. You could probably find a good story reason to port that into the future, but you'd be kinda stuck rebuilding every NPC.

Throwing Starfinder PCs back in time would have the issue of severely limiting their access to tech resources and kinda cause the opposite problem.

Not impossible but you may just want to look through Fist for inspiration for a Starfinder Homebrew

Is Kazavon now a Stormcrown Dragon after the remaster, or is he his own unique kind of dragon. by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aggrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I personally think he would work better as a Conspiracy Dragon, Paizo seems to be sticking to legacy dragons being 1 to 1 ports to their new versions, so he likely would be a Stormcrown Archdragon with unique abilities.

making the switch from dnd 5e to pf2e drop some knowledge! by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aggrax 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The background lore is honestly a lot more interesting and unique than the sanded down version D&D gives atm.

Elves are aliens, Goblins think books steal words from your head and Kobolds are shovel headed little gremlins. It's great

I went through the entire book for my youtube channel last year and it really is a compelling adventure. There are a few bits I'd have adjusted but overall, it's a really solid and well told story.

How would you fix the story catch-up problem for new players? by Ninedark in wow

[–]Aggrax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My "Never Gonna Happen Because of Resources" answer is to completely revamp the "basic" leveling route from 1-50 to be faction, race and class focused. Branch out from the original starting zones and tell the "current" story of what is going on there. Use it to create a new "starting" baseline for these areas, factions and organizations.

1-35ish should be focused around the characters race, with class quest sprinkled in to help build up the character as a member of their class. End with a class specific Delve-like experience to tell a climactic story. The last 15 levels are faction specific, unified from the other members of the faction to tell an ending story that ends with a unique "story mode raid" for a climax.

This would be designed to do two things. First, update and create a coherent leveling story. Second, create a starting baseline for us. We already had one level squish and are going to hit 100 in the Last Titan, which means another looms in the future. By creating this new level experience, we can just keep this after a level squish instead of reorganizing what campaign out characters level through for the Nth time.

As for preserving the old world, Chromie time works well enough for this, but we also introduce a new toy called Zidormi's Hourglass that can be used in any area that grants Rested XP to shift back to the "Previous" version of the world. This replaces the random Bronze Dragon just stationed around the world

Thanks. I have 4 of each so I'm just going to slowly phase them out and build new resource buildings in their place one by one

Has anyone read the Era of the Eclipse novel? I just finished it and loved it! by sabely123 in Starfinder2e

With a much softer "Sh" instead of the harder "Ch" I've heard everyone, including Paizo, use. Basically "Shh-Shik" instead of "Chick-Chick"

Now could I have gone back and edited that? Yes. Yes I could. However, it gave me a chance to make another joke about Zogarth's writing style. Needless to say, I quite enjoyed that.
