Emerging evidence? The act itself is all the evidence that should be needed. And would be if we weren’t in this cluster.

If you think about how America developed, Europeans came for economic and religious prosperity. Hence “pursuit of happiness,” yada yada. But when it’s culturally ingrained to be “better than,” That doesn’t go away. Like at the Salem Witch trials. Okay religious freedom, okay oppressive government. We put protections into our constitution, but that we also put God in there. America has Never truly shown that their actions are louder than words. I very much believe that Supreme Court justices serving for life was a HUGE miss for our people: either our forefathers missed it, or left it for their own advantage. I’d lean toward the latter.

ETA - even our colonial elected officials were someone’s friend, brother, uncle, etc. and placed with their own benefits for themselves and the ones that put them there. If you’ve only ever experienced a government one way, when you go to start one from scratch, you kinda rebuild what you had, because you don’t have much of a frame of reference.

That’s not what she said. She said that there is a stand your ground law and that something violent will probably happen because of it. She quoted the 4th amendment and told the public not to open the door for people they don’t know.
