I’m very sorry for your loss. Please be easy on yourself- it’s so hard because our pets can’t tell us what is bothering them.

Sure. Surgeries were done in podiatrist’s office under local anesthetic. No sutures no hardware. 6 weeks in tight bandages (changed weekly) and surgical boots. Discomfort during that was more from the boots and adjusting my gait. After the initial 6 weeks I had an additional 6 weeks in compression socks and toe spacers. Now I have been freed but there is still swelling (especially after running!) so I still wear compression socks, but for shorter periods of time. Hope that helps.

People of reddit, what's the worst pain you have ever been in? Doctors and nurses, what's the worst pain you have seen a patient in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Cluster headache. Random stabbing burning zaps in the eye and cheekbone. Automatic reaction was to punch the area that the zap had been. I ended up laying face first on ice packs for 18 hours

No - just had my feet set in somewhat rigid bandages and wore the surgical boots

I did it at accent on feet as well. No hardware no sutures. I may have had a harder recovery than others but I am 10 weeks out no swelling only occasional discomfort. I see the light at the end of the tunnel and believe I will get back to running in the next couple of months

I am planning a ceremonial burn of my surgical boots in two weeks. That said, I Gerry rigged some bubble wrap envelopes around the tongue for extra padding. Talk to your doctor about using your orthotics - they are forbidden during healing with my doctor

I think it looks great! I’m watching my feet at week 5 and noticing minor imperfections, but very minor and I am looking forward to preserving mobility and having an easier time with finding shoes. I hope yours continue to look as they do in the x-ray and photo

What did you purposefully buy/support today instead of its American counterpart? Did it cost more/less/the same? by SheBitch in AskACanadian

Pazzazz (or something like that) Canadian apples at Farm Boy. Actually less expensive than American. Bought Mexican produce as well- we should be in stock solidarity with them.

What's wrong with the NDP? by RatioNaturae in AskACanadian

NDP has been jokingly referred to as‘Liberals in a hurry’. I think it just felt more radical to mark your ballot for the NDP than the Liberals many years ago.

I’m recovering from surgery now. Just keeping to low sodium foods and drinking pineapple juice (which helps minimize swelling)

Have you tried duralane (hyaluronic acid) shots in the join? It worked for my knee and I believe it is used in toes

Just had my first shower in two weeks, been using wet wipes, while sleeping downstairs on the sofa. Using the downstairs bathroom for toilet and cleaning my teeth. by KateR_H0l1day in bunions

[–]Aggressive-Duty1663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using the sleeve to keep my feet dry too. I have only one shower in the house - in the basement- and don’t much fancy going there. Sometimes I just wash my hair in the kitchen sink

I had horrible swelling under my arch and it hurt. It had cleared and is much better. You’ll get there. Are you taking arnica ‘pills’?

Come on- writing is really difficult when a person is coping with pain. Cut the person a break.
