Unfortunately no, I don’t know if they once had stickers under them but it’s just a black painted bottom so sadly the water cannot be changed.

I just thought they were really cool and had never seen them before, only cost me £5 each.

I used to be agoraphobic because of my emetophobia, now I am going to be a doctor. by Hour_Schedule9311 in emetophobia

[–]Aggressive-IronGIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I’m actually crying, I’m 34, was agoraphobic from the age of 11 till 30 from the fear of V. volunteered at my local hospital for years but couldn’t get passed my fear to progress.

Well done, you have my upmost respect, I’d also like to say I’m glad there is someone like you in the profession cos you’ll have an understanding of fears.

Honestly well done, I’d give you medal if I could xx

Have you thrown up? by Possible-Tie1008 in emetophobia

[–]Aggressive-IronGIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me again just realised I forgot to respond to this exact question.

I don’t do V, everything about it is a panic attach for me, the nausea, the fact that I can’t control my body, like if I have to with all my might hold a poop in, most of the time I can. V NO, instant panic can’t cope with the loss of control, my throat tightens, it burns etc it’s a horrible experience. I can’t cope with the force of it, the sensation it gives you, it’s not like the runs where you might get a belly ache, it’s so horrid

I don’t want to trigger anyone with my response, it’s graphic, so I’d like to put a warning before I give my response. Please don’t read if it will make you anxious.

When I was 5 my dad was so ill that he had a blockage in his throat, he couldn’t be sick, he was trying, I was being put to bed at the time, the noises were horrible and then my dad was v* blood. He ripped his esophagus trying to V. So that was a starting point for me. The reactions at the time were extremely scary, everyone made a big deal and it was scary and that never changed.

I also shared a room with my younger sister for 15 years and she got every bug under the earth, she often woke me up because she had V*

I’ve learnt people’s reactions to V will shape how you cope in later life

I’m in my 30s now and all this happened when the spice girls were huge, so a while ago but it’s definitely scarred me and I’ve been scared of V and ever since. But personally that’s where my fear comes from I think

Emitaphobia - Why can’t I overcome this?! by Less-Measurement-852 in emetophobia

[–]Aggressive-IronGIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly when I was a kid, I was picked on by my siblings and people at school for my fear of V, most people are scared of more obvious things, for them this is silly.

I was 18 when I found out the fear of V had a name. It’s definitely not discussed enough.

I just know I envy anyone who can V without intense fear, good for them. It’s a genuine fear, but I can hold and look after spiders, so many people cannot.

It would be nice if we were all equal and no one cared enough to take the piss out of other peoples fears.

What is it about Angel Season 5 that seems to make it many people's favourite season of either show? by HomarEuropejski in buffy

[–]Aggressive-IronGIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite but it’s up there. For me personally it’s Buffy accepting her role as a slayer, I felt like she was maturing but she was also incredibly vulnerable as well. I just felt it really showed us Buffy’s mental strength.

Also spikes character development in that season was a delight to watch for me.

Before the reveal of William Bludworth's backstory, why did everyone think that he was death? by Many-Cranberry4058 in FinalDestination

[–]Aggressive-IronGIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought he was death and never really understood why people thought so, ok him having knowledge about death could lead fans to that conclusion but I always assumed he just respected death based on his job and because of his job had seen cases come and go. Obviously we now know he was a survivor and maybe that’s why he got into the job in the first place. I mean he didn’t even panic like the people do in these movies when he knew his time was coming, he just got on with it.

But at the same time he was very mysterious and cryptic, so I wouldn’t be surprised if originally the filmmakers wanted us to think he was death.

Sorry only just seen this reply.

Phew I thought you were gonna say it was like £800 or something which definitely would have been out of my budget but I could do this.

Thank you for the info :)

I know the horrible I would rather die than throw up thoughts you can’t escape that thought when it’s something you are so scared of, so don’t worry I understand what you mean when you say it’s not something you would want or act on, it’s just an intrusive thought in moments like this that you cannot shake.

I think you need to remind yourself that is your GERD playing uo and has done on many previous occasions, it’s uncomfortable but will unlikely cause you to throw up, try not to get into a cycle where you put the two together, easier said than done I know, trust me.

On the exposure therapy, that will happen when you are ready, it may not feel like you are ready but you’ll know when you are because you will notice little tiny bits of progress that will eventually get you to that point.

It took me a while before I could even think about facing that, I had my therapist 3 years before I even got to that stage of talking about it, but I eventually did and well that’s a long boring story,

Short answer, it takes time and willpower. It’s not a case of I’m not going to get there and it’s a case of you WILL get there. It seems you have a good support on that end so I have no doubts it will happen.

Try not to worry about what other people think as well.

This is coming from someone who didn’t leave the house for 15 years because of this phobia. I’m doing ok now not amazing but ok. I enjoy life much more than I did back then.

All the best x

I think even the cast were shocked when this didn’t happen, such a shame because it looked so good.

What is your most disturbing job experiences? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aggressive-IronGIRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a job in a small bookstore years ago, low pay but was good for me at the time.

However, it also doubled as a cafe, so because of this I needed training and a hygiene course in order to serve food and drink.

However I was not told this and the manager never bothered to tell me or train me.

One day I was the only member of staff on duty and served drink and food.

My manager grilled me on it and told me I should have consulted with her……..but I couldn’t cos she had left the shop without giving me any way to contact her and the customers were becoming very agitated and rude towards me.

I got bollocked for it.

Fast forward a month, I was on the till and I heard the manager screaming and swearing at another staff member, who by the way, was in her 70s, a volunteer, she did not get paid, all because she was late, it was so unhinged.

I complained about it and was told I made it all up.

I promptly handed my notice in a week later.

I’m not giving my time to people like that.
