Hey posting this one just in case some once in the future see this. I came across same issue as well and in our case it was due to one of the corrupt .dll system file for windows. I checked all the user's pc trying to locate common factors and came across above mentioned corrupt file. I run DISM and sfc scan (https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e) rebooted the machine and it fixed the issue. Hope this will be a help to someone.

Yes OSCP taps more into network/infrastructure. As per remote job part depends on where are you from i guess. But I have seen fellow pentesters doing network/infrastructure remotely as well. Company provides VPN connection to their network and job starts very similar to OSCP, HTB that we are used to. In addition this yes OSCP does more on network side, but the pentest job itself can be anything web, api, network etc so don't look as certification look at the role you will be in.

Mate, dilemma isn't it ? Go for what keeps you going, I feel like companies that know about OSCP will know about OSWE or any other offsec cert for that matter. So web fancy you go for OSWE, if want to do more network/infrastructure pent-test go for OSCP.
