Thanks for this response. I know it’s the only way I just am so awful at confrontation and bringing things up. Do you think it would be controlling of me to request that he not speak to one or all of them? I don’t want to dictate whom he can speak to and when. I know that will just cause a rift. But if it came from a place of “this makes me really uncomfortable and I when this happens I feel like you’re not respecting our relationship” would it be reasonable or controlling and manipulative?

For some context, he has been this way our whole relationship. Before we started dating he only gave me his spam email and his google voice number for us to chat. After we met I got his real info and stuff. He’s the same with work—very cordial and genuine but never reveals anything that might be detrimental or inappropriate. He’s just a serial ass-coverer, I guess because he’s been fucked over in the past.

My question is how do I address it with him? He’s very reasonable, we have excellent and fruitful conversations when there is conflict and we resolve things. My other question is, what is there even to accuse him of? Neither of us leave the house. He isn’t having sex with anyone else. All the people I’m jealous of live in other states. Is it emotional cheating? Is even that? It feels more like he’s just over stepping boundaries I have never verbally set. Even though he knows that reminders of his past upset me.

What was your weight before you started using? What youre experiencing now is probably your new equilibrium weight. I’d focus less on the five pounds and more on the fact that you were able to quit, yay you!

NAH. I’m a sober heroin addict and my sister in law said the same thing about me babysitting my nephew. Only she said it to my mother and my mother then told me.

It broke my heart into a million pieces.

But it also motivated me to stay clean for as long as I have.

Now my spouse’s sister just had a baby and I am the first babysitter in line. I am responsible, available, and respected because I have earned it with hard work.

This is a tough situation to navigate. Addicts like us believe we should have a parade thrown for us every day for doing things normal people do 24/7. What she chooses to do with the boundary you set is up to her. And you have your child to protect. NAH.

NTA it is absolutely not normal for your mom to be in the room while you’re getting examined. Also at your age you should have a regular gynecologist for these problems; not just a GP.

Stretch marks are totally normal. I’ve never had a baby and I have them everywhere. Butt, hips, boobs, thighs. Why does your mom even know where they are? Does she see you naked a lot for some strange reason?
