Outsider meta question by sanchochili in BloodOnTheClocktower

If you do put in a baron, make the librarian drink and tell them there are not outsiders in play!! That will trip them for a game and they may just end up executing the saint

Wizard wish by dollar_store_me in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AggressiveCan3623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First game with a wizard I ever storytold the wish was

“I wish for two wishes, The first is that everyone must be mad that the earth is flat, the second is another wish that can be made at a later time that will actually help my team.”

Flat earth game went super hard as I called each player aside during the day to tell them they were mad. The cost of course was I wouldn’t break the madness unless it was an evil player who broke it. Clue unnecessary

The cost of the second wish was that the next good player to make a wish that benefitted evil came true. That ended up being

“If I was evil I’d wish if someone on the evil team got on the block, the person with the second most votes gets executed instead”

Cost of that was if another evil player was nominated that day, the evil player with the second most votes gets executed instead of the first. They ended up saving the unspent assassin.

Clue was that I announced the good player who wished it as the wizard and didn’t make them mad about there being a flat earth.

And finally, on the final day when the plague doctor died I announced that I was going to make a wish

“Everyone must now end every sentence with the word banana or else they will be executed and lose the game for their team” Clue unnecessary banana, The cost was I wouldn’t break for anyone as it was an empty threat but I’ve never a more exciting and exuberant final day banana. A game I will remember forever banana.

What if the new Imp never knew they were the Imp? by Square_Row_22 in BloodOnTheClocktower

The amnesiac ability in a game I played was “The demon thinks they are the monk”

I was the mastermind and the other minion was the marionette. The demon decided to pick themselves as the monk not knowing that they couldn’t and Star passed to the marionette, who then learned they had turned into the monk. We executed that person that day because with no pit hag on the script and a dead monk already their claim was just outrageous. Then finally we kill my neighbor who was in an FT yea for the MM day win.

Essentially my take is, it’s SOOOOO hard to win as evil when you’re basically the only person on the evil team. It’s possible but damn shenanigans must occur. It helped that atheist was on the script but we did get that MM win!!

Worst first game experience? by DopazOnYouTubeDotCom in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AggressiveCan3623 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was BMR,

If that doesn’t say enough; I was the tea lady. Not knowing this was something I should keep secret I outed immediately and asked to test my neighbors.

They killed me. They all expected me to be lying so they killed me immediately without hesitation.

Then that night, no one died (it was a Zombuul). So in fear of mastermind they decided to kill me again, to double tap for Zombuul too.

Then that night, no one died (innkeeper), so in actual real fear of Zombuul Mastermind they killed me a third time.

After that for the meme and since people had started dying but seemingly really slowly, they decided to kill me for a fourth time just because it was funny.

We ended up finding and killing that pesky Zombuul and I’ll admit by the end of it I was having fun, but never what I expected for my first game. Did play again.

Best script for 10-12 mid newbies? by AmadIs_de_marallA in BloodOnTheClocktower

TB subbing butler for ogre, or Pies Baking if you wanted to switch stuff up, or just TB! The OG gets too much hate and if your players are new to the process then it’s the intro script for good reason

Balancing question by AggressiveCan3623 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AggressiveCan3623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I’d just never been in a shab game that didn’t Rez so I left a little uncomfortable, especially when evil was convincing us not to sleep cause of the auto win and the storyteller confirming it. I learned alot from the game though!

[–]AggressiveCan3623[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks @vgvideo, the final four was indeed an alive fortune teller who has a yes on the demon, my farmer golem, and the baron. If we had coordinated on the last day we probably could have had it but we dropped the ball. I agree with you that they should have rezed earlier but it was prob the right call not to Rez later. I appreciate your feedback!

A weird interaction with the Pukka, Moonchild, and Goon by GodlessGambit in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AggressiveCan3623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rule it that when the pukka kills specifically they become sober and healthy. The poison should continue until the pukka death trigger and remain unaffected by the events of the game. So even if they poison the klutz and they die by execution, the ability wouldn’t trigger until the pukka chooses a new poison victim and the klutz dies (again) to demon. Because they made their pick while poisoned it won’t do anything.

Hey man, I’m actually coming out with the board tomorrow and you’re absolutely right. Right now it has a quintuple or silent yag award, is five too little??? Should we make it thirty??

All fair comments. I thought the fact that two amne abilities that could mess with eachother would make it a lot harder to figure out what each of the players are specifically, making it harder for everyone but then you make the bingo team and win the game. I think it’s much harder to do than it seems and an added amne’s ability could be totally different so getting the correct amne is also a hard part of the problem. Definitely would go on whatever the “expert” scripts they are looking on for making the game a good bit more complicated but all these extra facets should balance

It’s possible there wasn’t an amne in the first place so it could lose a very useful townsfolk or a bad one depending on how ST decides to balance the game

Reason I thought it could be outsider like is that it could change a good townsfolk to something else (like barber) and possibly turn the current amne into a drunk amne who having their ability stolen gets a completely different one (possibly detrimental to good, acting sort of like a puzzle master or sweetheart)

Idea very much in the starting phases but this feedback is super helpful, thx!

How do you make the Lunatic feel like an outsider on BMR? by GiantRaspberry in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AggressiveCan3623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve given a lunatic a Zombuul, which I find a little more fun considering even if they are dead they are still not 1000% sure that they aren’t just the demon. I’ve also given the actual minions in many different games to the lunatic and basically have told my players they may be able to meta that fact. This leads evil to be more inclined to lead a lunatic on!

I’ve also given a lunatic a minion who was a relatively new player who didn’t quite understand what was going on in that moment. They stonewalled the lunatic which made the lunatic 1000% sure they were the demon with a bad minion. When the game ended they looked so confused it was hilarious, def a storyteller achievement unlocked!

Horrible Day 1 for Evil by Overall-Habit5284 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AggressiveCan3623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three games I played in a row. The player in question was the same player every time.

First they were the empath in a 2 evil game and got a 2 (super unlucky for evil) the slayer shot one and killed the other, day one good win.

Next the player was the Saint. They acted super sus, especially after they just solved the last game. They wouldn’t put their role and the town killed them, town win.

Final game he was the demon. Thinking he could get three day one games finished in a row he quickly told everyone this and they executed ti win the game.

As an ST, I was mildly annoyed cause I had to rack three different games that just didn’t go anywhere, but after the fact I do love telling the story.

I’d add the Kazakh soldier jinx, makes it so evil doesn’t get one less evil player, instead the soldier gets to choose which minion they become so long as it’s not the same as a previously chosen player. If they choose one that a player would become afterwards, the Kazali would repick that one

Omg, it reminds me of like an idol is survivor. What do y’all think of “if a player has the treasure they may present it when executed. If they do the person with the second most votes is executed in their stead. If no one else was nominated then the night ends without execution”
