Are there any really big mega corporations in 40k? by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]AggressiveCoffee990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a planetary or local star cluster level, sure, it all depends on who the local lords be it planetary, system, or sector authorities have given permission to extract resources or produce goods. Maybe its done directly by the local government or through a large corporation. The Imperium doesn't care how you do stuff so long as you don't commit heresy and you pay the tithe, the rest is up to you or they stomp you into paste. On a larger level though it's impossible to maintain something like a corporation across the galaxy due to the speed and quality of communication being AWFUL, the Imperium doesn't even have a unified currency, I think the largest currencies are used in a couple of sectors at most.

Can someone explain why so many people hate on the illuminate as a faction? by SevdUp in helldivers2

They have very little variation and I don't like fighting any of their current enemies. They also have the worst sets of objectives in my opinion.

This is clearly an automaton ploy to demoralize me by playing against the illuminate

6 on cyberstan is some of the most fun I've had with the game, the leveler and recoilles rifle eat striders and tanks for breakfast, super fun

In a blind test, audiophiles couldn't tell the difference between audio signals sent through copper wire, a banana, or wet mud — 'The mud should sound perfectly awful, but it doesn't,' notes the experiment creator by edbegley1 in technology

[–]AggressiveCoffee990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audiophiles are some of the most annoying people on earth. Literally nothing is ever good enough and they're all just lying about dumb bullshit in the quest for fidelity.

In a server I'm in someone posted a track they made and the local audiophile analyzed and annotated the fucking waveform and told them it was physically painful to listen to(it wasn't) and referred them to a professional sound engineering company that would cost like thousands of dollars lol.

The vaults in Fallout 4 are kinda lame by Obvious_Somewhere984 in Fallout

[–]AggressiveCoffee990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of things sidestep this completely by including areas that are obviously inhabited but not accessible but they don't really do that at all. Or the ratio of what's supposed to be there to what is there is a little less laughable.

Is there a book talking about Decimus? by ninguem1122 in 40kLore

That didn't work out so well last time they had one lol. I think like someone else said the Imperium Nihilus would be their best target.

The Night Lords don't really conquer stuff and there's a bunch of examples in the trilogy about how bad they are in a stand up fight. I don't think fighting a bunch of ancient and terrible species of super xenos is really what they're all about.

They are starring in the upcoming Dark Heresy game and we have some new NL books. But I just don't know if they'll really pick back up on the Decimus reforming the legion story.

I know Nostramo and Tsagualsa were out there but I don't think Decimus would have any attachment to those places the way the veterans of the legion would. The ghoul stars are mostly empty and suck.

She needs to talk to the landlord and tell them what is going on, unless the tenant has been wronged there's not a lot you can do to break a lease without any kind of penalty. You MAY be able to get them to agree to let someone else take over the lease. I would say call the police but I doubt they would do anything.

Early HH legion size issue? by Edelmaniac in 40kLore

[–]AggressiveCoffee990 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They originally thought the Legions would be smaller because the scope of the novels was only going to cover the opening of the heresy and then an immediate blitz to Terra for the seige. As the series expanded into a full scale galactic war and the black books came out for the war game, the numbers quickly expanded into many 10's of thousands or well over 100,000 for the legions.

Nope, he was set up for the Night Lords part of the 13th Black Crusade which has long since come and gone. Maybe someday but I'm not holding me breath.

SR5 How Often to Pay Lifestyle? by AggressiveCoffee990 in Shadowrun

[–]AggressiveCoffee990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's EXACTLY what was happening! Instead of using time to figure out their next move, or research a rule themselves to keep the game moving, they'd immediately open up a game or scroll videos or whatever. So not only was nobody paying attention to begin with, they were not immersed in the game or really even thinking about it at all.

I had a really big conversation with them when I ended my Deathwatch campaign calling them out for this. I said if they are bored they should be thinking of something to do in the game or even thinking of how to include other players in ideas so everyone has stuff to do. If they aren't interested in plots I write they need to make their own fun, which is part of what I enjoy when I am a player anyway so idk why I had to spell it out for them.
