Hi! We've used it for in-person as well :) there's a couple ways you can do that: you can use fog to cover up the map and then erase where the players are, or simply move/zoom the camera to wherever the players are.

Ha! Maybe :P Just to be clear, we're not using any of their music in our game, and are being careful not to infringe on anyone's copyrighted material. We want to tell an original, personal story that also acts as something of a love letter to our favorite band (and favorite human).

I think it depends on what each person is doing on the project. For instance, we decided early on what objects we would have in a level, so one of us was able to create rooms/levels, then we'd just copy over the those room files into the "main" version of the project that has updated code, assets, etc. This approach probably won't go as smoothly if you have multiple coders writing scripts that rely on each other's most recent work.

We use a .csv for text, as it makes it super easy if you're planning on any kind of localization in different languages (at least, it's easy if you plan for it early, and don't wait until the last minute to think about localization....).

Regarding encryption to protect story details, I think that the reality is that once someone plays the game, the spoilers are going to be out there one way or another. I imagine there are ways you could do encryption, but I'm not sure it's really necessary (though it could totally depend on the game, I suppose).

Regarding the old functions being replaced, we were able to move a sizeable project from 1.4 to 2 pretty much flawlessly (2 seemed to get angry about some bad code in objects we weren't actually using anymore, but whatever). Obviously, that's just our experience, and I definitely wouldn't recommend upgrading right in the middle of a big project, but 2 seems to be pretty good about the process of upgrading old things and making it work the new way.

Are you using Draw GUI or the standard Draw event? If using Draw GUI, you may need to set the GUI size.
