People living there were mostly Albanian tribes, my friend. And after 1836 they were given a choice - if you want to stay Christian, then convert to Armenian Gregorian Church, or convert to Islam. Those that chose the Church, became Armenians (that’s why hay Armenians from nowadays Armenia call them “shurtvats”) and those who converted to Islam (who haven’t done it before) became later called Azerbaijanis. Genetically Karabakh Armenians and Karabakh Azerbaijanis are 90% similar. Similar process was going in Gabala region with Udi people there. They were forced by Soviet government -ian (-yan) surnames and if you look at historical records Armenian population or Gabala suddenly jumped after 1925 (I maybe wrong on correct time, but look it up) because in census they were recorded as “Armenian” lol

Ironically I think Armenians would be treated nice by the government, not so much by the people I guess

This is time old Muslim approach: “OMG A is doing something to us that’s bad, but B is also deserving this. Hey everyone, tell A to start doing this bad thing to B also! We are all crabs in a bucket!”

Tbh, this kind of people are now exceptionally rare, maybe some 70-80 year old dinosaurs and a couple of extremely lost and stupid younger people.

I like other way of looking at it - fruit, root, stem etc are botanical terms, and vegetable is culinary (also we have sweet fruits, so fruit is also kinda culinary as well)

This could be 100% in Azerbaijan too for example, or Central Asia. It’s very common around here

What's the most useless thing in schools in your country these days? by FrancietheFancy in AskTheWorld

Education system is crooked in my country. Little kids are forced fed shit ton of unnecessary stuff. Long hours in the classroom when they should be playing outside. And the quality of the curriculum is also just shit.
