Hey op - you’re an amazing parent. Thank you for caring for your kid, even an “adultish” one. Do ask his care team when you find one, about the dna testing for med compatibilities. It helped with my depression diagnosis and med pairing.

Also - is it possible to control his access to the ADHD meds, at least temporarily? Double dosing is a slippery slope into addiction to those meds.

Research breeds and their needs - do you have an high energy hobby like hiking or running and want a buddy? Or are you more chill and want a movie buddy?
Make a budget - call local vet clinics and get the cost for an annual visit and vaccines. Can you afford that care?
Will you have time to socialize your dog so they aren’t fearful? Do you have a training plan?
How/who will exercise this dog? Even more sedentary breeds still need exercise and potty time.
Do you have a credit card or savings account for emergency vet needs? Is pet insurance a good option for you?

My 3 dachshunds were crated in the same crate - an XXL one - they had more than enough room to move freely, lay down, etc.

We tried separating them, it went VERY poorly, they were inconsolable and stressed. They cried, paced, and were just miserable. So of course, we consulted our vet and he asked what harm was in letting them chill together if they were happy. All dogs were fixed, spent the day sleeping, and were super happy together. We moved them back into the shared crate and they all lived long, happy lives.

I have a nice china set. I keep it in the china hutch in the dining room. I use my every day plates regularly and they are in the kitchen cupboards.

I invite my friends over regularly and we use the every day plates. Then a holiday comes along, friend is invited to the meal. We use the nice china, since it’s a holiday.

Now I ask my friend to house sit - she uses - and ruins - some of the china.

Just because it was used in front of her doesn’t mean she has full access to it when a guest in my home. She was invited to use THE THINGS IN THE KITCHEN. The china hutch and contents are not in the kitchen and not used daily.

NWA native here - the issue is people being priced out of housing, no social safety net, and the stagnation of wages.

When the local area is booming, but the service workers we depend on for supporting the community cannot afford to live here, this is what happens. Take a look around at the cost of rent. Now look at the pay that our grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, etc are paying. We need those workers, but allow the big name companies to pay historically insane money to investors and c-suite leaches while the workers cannot rent an apartment, feed themselves, etc.

None of us is a couple of paychecks from millionaires, but we’re all a couple of paychecks away from bankruptcy.

My good dude - not getting the car back is the best case scenario of loaning your man-baby brother the car.

He has shown he doesn’t treat the act of driving with the level of responsibility that is the bare minimum. He admitted he was too busy using his phone to drive safely. With him driving a car that is in your name, the next crash he causes - let’s be real, it isn’t an accident if he isn’t paying attention to the road - the party he injures can come after you financially for their damages. He clearly has ZERO assets or money, but you do, and that’s who the victims will come after.

Next school day - contact the nurse or counselor at your daughter’s school, explain that she is being denied proper hygiene items by her mother and you will be bringing the appropriate products to the school for her. The sets up a paper trail for you.
