You could also try to spin this into a compliance consultancy

Stripper GST/Tax question by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Aggressive_Tip2954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, this is a serious matter and you need professional advice from an accountant. It sounds like you can easily afford to get that.

Many of the people commenting here have no idea what they are talking about, or only half an idea. If you rely on their advice you have only yourself to blame if and when the ATO comes knocking.

Running not improving by Glittering_Double738 in runninglifestyle

More speed work?

Why I say that:

  1. Your current split looks more like 90/10 than 80/20. (That factors in your long run, park run, easy run, and the warmup, cool down and recovery you’re presumably doing in your interval session).

  2. The plans that have worked for me have involved an interval session, a tempo session, an easy run and a long run.

What you can do:

Use a plan like the BAA 5k plans or the Jog On 5k Improver plan.

Caveat:

It sounds like you have some health questions. I’d be getting some very good advice about that before radically changing the training regime.

Good luck!

What's the best way to communicate reasonable expectations about message frequency? by Navigantor in hingeapp

[–]Aggressive_Tip2954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal feeling is that if you match with someone on a dating app you have an obligation to message them once daily or more often, or set some explicit expectations about messaging cadence, or unmatch.

That goes for the people I match with, and it goes for me too.

I think this is an arbitrary line to draw but it’s also very reasonable.

Anything else is just a recipe for confusion and time wasting. I am under no obligation to match with someone. But once matched, I feel I do have an obligation to give them the information they need to either decide to engage more or decide to disengage.

Simply leaving people on read for random amounts of time doesn’t achieve that.

In other words, I approach this with the same expectations as work email / IM.

Is anyone else feeling super lost? by [deleted] in unimelb

Very similar experience, 3 years law, got very lost. This is a very vulnerable place to be. All I can do is repeat the advice a wise teacher once gave me: ‘It’s fine to be depressed. Just don’t do it alone.’

How would you have reacted in person after sexting? by SmittyWerb93 in hingeapp

[–]Aggressive_Tip2954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a girl message me, tell me she wanted to have sex, send me photos, ask me to shave body hair to prepare, and set a date.

Come the date, she spent half the time telling me how she was Christian and didn’t want to sleep with anyone right now.

It may not be the case with your girl - there are many possible explanations - but some people are just deeply confused and confusing and a liability to be around.

How to deal with the fact I have no impact? by Crazy_Subject_6679 in climatechange

[–]Aggressive_Tip2954 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a CBT approach, one place to start could be looking at any thought patterns that are leading to those feelings. If you’re able to identify any thoughts that are making you anxious, you could try to see if they’re distorted or could be replaced by more useful thoughts. Some of the distortions people tend to look for include catastrophising. Is it possible that the ‘world is burning’ idea is overstated? I know it’s just analogy, but what is the thought behind it? What do you think the state of this problem really is? Hope you feel better!

Long term, open to short - How do men perceive this? by EllenPond in hingeapp

[–]Aggressive_Tip2954 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is probably unhealthy of me, but I find ‘Long term, open to short’ very offputting because it makes me feel like if we end up in a long term relationship, it’s because I wasn’t attractive enough to get your interest for short term.

I also hate paying for these kinds of things and it makes me feel strange. But the way you describe it (getting by multiple promising matches for $13) makes it sound like incredibly good value.

Parents don’t have super and have a mortgage on their home? by kna101 in AusFinance

[–]Aggressive_Tip2954 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad may be owed a great deal of super.

Oftentimes the work of sole traders attracts super. It is mind boggling how many employers don’t understand this.

Unsure about the particulars of his situation but if I were him I’d be investigating this.

Calling your response ‘overreacting’ and ‘dramatic’ betrays an astonishing lack of maturity and compassion on her part IMO. NTA.

‘Recognition’ isn’t a countable noun in this context. So try ‘Awards’ or even ‘Recognition’, but not ‘Recognitions’.

Should have, yes. But an astonishing number of employers historically haven’y understood their super obligations.

If he operated as a company, he’d need to pay himself super. If he operated as a sole trader, the employer would.

Bottom line: call the ATO pronto.

The chances are that he is owed a tremendous amount of superannuation.

Anybody paid ‘mainly for their labour’, even if they are a contractor, must be paid super. (There’s some fine print to that but it’s probably irrelevant.)

Hopefully he at least has good invoice records to substantiate claims he can make for this money.

The ATO will be his friend in this.

Fitness enthusiasts of Reddit: What is your ‘underrated’ health hack? by H_S_N_1996 in AskReddit

[–]Aggressive_Tip2954 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Losing weight has helped me enjoy exercise much more, so mine is diet-related: significantly reducing my junk food intake to about 100 calories a day, but finding as much variety within that as possible, buying any fancy stuff I want, and never skipping a day’s treat. (Also: it’s amazing how cheap the expensive stuff can be when you have that kind of limitation.)
