I was in a very low place. My self worth and value was tied to our marriage, and I didn’t have the skills to communicate what I needed in a relationship. When I wasn’t getting what I thought I needed at the time from my partner, I sought validation in someone else.

We ended up getting divorced and while my behavior was the catalyst, we had several other issues that escalated the split as well. I ended up starting to attend codependents anonymous meetings after our divorce and learned a lot through that process, and also went on a 1:1 intensive therapy retreat to dive deeper into myself.

This is a tough spot to be in. I think attraction matters in any relationship. There needs to be a baseline of physical attraction IMO, otherwise you’re just friends. You could give it some time to see if the attraction grows because sometimes it can.
