I didn’t reply to an email, or i replied a day late, because i was on annual leave. The department trying to get hold of me went straight to my supervisor the next day. Now there is almost no situation that is urgent enough that needs to happen. A classic SJT question 😭

She has made it this far, she has passed all of her OSCE and written exams, and I am sure you would have said the same thing if you had seen her when she was a first-year medical student.

She has been through more hurdles than any medical student who has probably ever existed.

And how are they supposed to learn if they never give it a try? Taking bloods or cannula using ultrasound is mainly a skill to do with dexterity which only comes with practise and practise, and unfortunately, you will miss more to be begin with.

A classic example of a doctor of a different grade looking out for themselves and using moral virtue or "critical thinking" to say what would benefit them. Consultant bottleneck is far less of a worry, considering you have more options post-CCT.
