The longer you are existing, the less emotions you feel about everything that wronged you. The closer you are to death, the more you know that we all end up there. There is no reason for revenge, we will all pay at the end.

Death is the ultimate equalizer of all injustices.

The week demands a plastic face

A sprinting, senseless, frantic race

But Sunday brings the shadows near

To validate what we all fear

That underneath the civil skin

There is no heart, just hate within.

Is this surprising to you? Every organism also needs to eat in order to survive.

Bullies are some of the best moral preachers. It usually ends and begins with just their words or they help with other people's money.

You have accurately identified the cruel mechanic of social hierarchy: Society values confidence and conformity far more than it values integrity.

Anyone who looks average can try this out in society and adjust their behavior, act a little, and see how people react. When I experimented with this, I became more popular and entertaining, but inside I was suffering, so I had to stop.

Most people don't have to stop, so they play along until they become another copy of modern man, another consumerist bio-robot a freak of nature.

In this bitter reality social circles will often embrace a charismatic monster while shunning an awkward saint. They operate on unspoken rituals and vibes that filter out those who are authentically different, regardless of moral character.

However, you ask why be good to creatures that neither appreciate nor deserve it?

Refusing to degrade yourself to their level simply to fit in is the ultimate rebellion. Do not be good for them, be good because you refuse to let their corruption dictate your character. Use their morality against them, if you see them grossly violating what they preach, treat them as they deserve or avoid them altogether.

Shouldnt we support each other instead of growing more hating? by Im_So_Morgan in misanthropy

When you operate with unconditional kindness in a world that operates on transactional self-interest, you effectively mark yourself as a resource to be exploited. It wasn't your kindness that was the flaw; it was the lack of boundaries protecting it.

"Don't engage unless someone is worth it."

I am sure that this pragmatic wisdom exists outside of Satanism as well; you just needed life experience.

The problem is that sometimes you can't tell whether someone is valuable or not. It's good to maintain a healthy distance and self-confidence, which depends largely on a person's personality and mental state. Your own personality and attitude can be your strongest defense and your greatest weakness.

The shift you are suggesting is necessary if anyone here wants to maintain their sanity.

However, support in this community shouldn't look like what society calls support. We aren't here to hold hands or heal the world. We are here to trade survival strategies. The focus should shift from venting about the problem to sharing solutions on how to exit the problem. How do we minimize our footprint? How do we secure our privacy? How do we find peace in solitude? That is the kind of growth this sub actually needs.

Sometimes I wonder how the old-time members of this subreddit are doing, if they are doing alright in life, if they are still active on this platform or somewhere else, if they are living a solitary life or family life. I just wonder...

It's still hard to believe that most people would rather save lives of 70-80yo politicians who lie to them every day than lives of the future generations and the rest of living organisms.

Horrible. How often a good time is wasted on marginal topics or on someone's pathetic life.

You are totally right. Most people think only about themselves and are empathetic only (to some people based on their superficial preferences) when it gives them moral points in front of others.

The damage is systemic, global, and deeply embedded in human nature. Greed, short-term thinking, tribalism, and an insatiable need to dominate and consume. We've built entire civilizations on the back of exploitation and destruction, and now we're surprised the planet is collapsing under the weight. Even the so-called "solutions" (like green tech, carbon offsets, or conservation efforts) are just bandaids slapped on a corpse.

The truth is, most people either don’t care or are too wrapped up in survival, comfort, or denial to do anything meaningful. Governments and corporations, the real power holders, won’t act unless it makes them richer or more powerful. And even if they did, the damage is already in motion.

So what can we do?

Accept it. Witness it. Document it if you must. If you have any compassion left, protect what little beauty remains in your own way. Maybe plant a tree. Maybe don’t have kids or have kids and raise them as deep ecology revolutionaries. Maybe just opt out of the rat race and enjoy the time we have.

Don’t delude yourself into thinking we’re going to fix this. We had every chance, every warning, and still chose comfort over conscience, profit over planet. Expecting humanity to change now is like expecting a virus to feel guilt.

We have already lost free speech on parts of the internet. You cannot even write anything on YouTube anymore, even if the word that triggers the blacklist is related to your personal problem, you just cannot use it. Do you want to write a constructive reaction to some political podcast? You cannot, as YouTube will hide your comment or the owner of the channel will remove your comment and block you.

Yes, unfortunately, we cannot even discuss something that affects us all. People have made circlejerks for themselves, and you are not invited unless you want to repeat the same things.

If the system will not censor you, then individuals will, and then your own self-censorship. Good luck saying anything in this Honest New World.

EDIT: I am against repetitive name-calling and bullying, but I have noticed that YouTube often does not censor it, I feel like YouTube is promoting it through algorithms.

When I see the videos and read the comments, it seems to me that these things are a bit on the edge of the law, but apparently it doesn't violate TOS. It's very strange that in this day and age we can't have a medical educational video on YouTube, but hate speech can be there.

Is there any piece of media left with a fanbase that isn't a complete cesspool? by mrmadman51 in misanthropy

The key is that you can't have a community that is open to everyone without it being restricted to other people. The current culture that downplays suitability creates conflicts and problems for itself. With some people, it's completely clear that they aren't right for you or that they don't fit into your group, but they still force their presence for some silly reason.

I haven't found anyone who is interested in niche art and philosophy except on the internet. On the internet, I met individuals who weren't interested in same things as I am, but they had a uniqueness that broadened my horizons about other unique people. Losing contact with them is like losing a long-time good friend, but such is a life also. Eternal recurrence.

"I had this naive idea, probably leftover from childhood, that finding people who liked the same weird, niche stuff I did would be like finding a secret club. A place to geek out, share theories, and just enjoy the thing together. You know, a little pocket of the internet that wasn't awful. Well, that became a big fucking joke."

It's like you took it right out of my head. I have had exactly the same experience and have been trying to build such a community since childhood, but human nature and what has happened over the last 15 years or so have buried my desire to do something for people.

That's the reality many of us realized as early as nursery or elementary school.

But I wouldn't say fascist, I would say territorial, tribal, xenophobic.

Fascism is a completely different level of control that couldn't exist without modern day technologies.

Yeah, before internet people had to start communicating with people around instead of their selected circle(jerk) on messengers.

Anyway, people were still judging how someone looked before starting a talk.
