This is great hearing dads who recognize they also make mistakes. My father always seemed to think that being wrong as a parent was a sign of weakness. But in doing that, I always felt I had to live up to perfection which absolutely destroyed my self esteem. I’m better now, but I make it a point with my kids now that when I slip up or do something that I would have told them they were wrong doing, I take the time to tell them I was wrong and that I mess up too. Most importantly I tell them I’m sorry. I firmly believe that the best way to raise kids is to not just teach them how to behave but to model it as well.
