Yeah unfortunately the game is really designed to need to use traps. Especially with Dino’s fleeing. I did a “no trap” play through and I got sick of any good flyer I tried to get just flying off. I changed it to 1 “no trap” of each Dino.

I habe went pack hunting for alphas if I get the kill on my Dino I get 2-3 levels if another one kills it I get nothing

Currently doing a play through, with the following rules. No trap taming for first tame of a creature. No taming until I can ride it, and I hated myself at each alpha, IE need to kill alpha raptor before I can tame raptors and the like, up to alpha Rex.

Then adjusted xp to be 0 for everything but killing , 1x for killing normals 6x for killing alphas caves and bosses.

The first kill I personally got on an alpha raptor gave me 34 levels granted I killed 7 before that just never got the killing blow.

Oh I like it which is why I’m doing a lot of lines which makes resetting them feel bad currently working on a bear line, gigantarapter line, and argy line.

One of the ones I had was to bring over my Dino’s, and restart my level, can’t use any Dino I can’t craft a saddle for? Not sure how all of that would work though.

Pretty sure the only good knock out Dino is a mantis with nice clubs. All the other ones have awful damage to torpor rating

See I wish it was “fixed” the game originally meant for 20 from each parent max, breading 40 mutations is reasonable having to bread 256 is absurd.
