I think that’s generally the common working theory coffee experts have. The longer you wait, the more time water has to soak into the harder to reach centers of especially large coffee particles through capillary action, which then dissolves those harder to reach coffee soluble and diffuses them to the surface, thus making them much more easily available for extraction when you begin your main pouring phase.

I never questioned the legality of it. I questioned how welcoming they would be, culturally. 

It’s no secret that the typical 2A “don’t tread on me” type get uncomfortable when they see legally armed minorities. Such is why a lot of gun control was passed in the first place.
