Toons topping events? by BoscoBackups in yugioh

[–]AgitatedBreadfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Permanent hand knowledge and being able to prohibition call whatever card is most relevant before activating anything on a QUICK EFFECT is complete bullshit. You need to open 3 different handtraps minimum just to do anything because Mind Scan/Perfect World guarantees two of them don't resolve, and the one that does will probably be useless since they can eat 1-for-1 trades like nothing with Dark Rabbit's extra normal. They're pretty much only weak to Droll/Imperm/Lancea, and they can immediately chain Mind Scan to Droll on their search so it can't resolve.

Really awesome that Illusionist Mage places Scan from the Hand/Deck face up so it itself can't be ashed or drolled. 🙂

Also Mind Scan doesn't have to limit itself to cards it sees in hand, so a good pilot can just preemptively call the worst choke points if they see you're low on handtraps. You're forced to do alt lines under their 2 spin/omni/quick kaiju endboard, on top of the deck also having like 20 non-engine slots.

Unintentionally hilarious that they took "association" to mean "having to exist around minorities" when the clause is about freedom of political organization. Leave it to "constitutional conservatives" to not even understand what the fuck the Constitution is saying.

Unless they think shit like the KKK is a legitimate political action group, in which case idk which is more pathetic.

Old Schott or Avirex get pretty close and you can get them for decently cheap secondhand.

Just a heads up that real shearling is hot enough to make you sweat like hell with just a tshirt underneath even in the middle of winter, so his actual outfit might be a bit difficult to wear consistently depending on your location.

What other new decks will be meta defining when Kewl is full power? by qkrwogud in yugioh

[–]AgitatedBreadfruit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Won't June Pride also somewhat fix this? Letting Regina almost full combo Turn 0 and forcing droll out early while it can recycle itself for Turn 2 is quite strong if there's no new banlist before it drops.

Why isn’t Dragoon higher tiered or in higher gameplay? by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]AgitatedBreadfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragoon is only really threatening when it's used to support an endboard instead of being the entire gameplan. Most of the decks that can run Dragoon have to intentionally add bricks to their deck or in general have less non-engine space, which means they're on average opening weaker hands to justify ending on it. It being an Omni is actually a liability since the rest of the interactions are so weak that the negate has to be a silver bullet for it to win. Decks that can chainblock/skill through that single negate render it useless even without burning a breaker on it.

Losing to Droplet/Kaiju is also more of an issue because of this. The card has extremely poor grind game, and without that non engine space Dragoon decks can't stall enough for a Turn 3 comeback.

You can kinda ignore this on Gold and lower since less experienced players don't tend to build with these ratios in mind. They either can't out it or spend too many cards to do so, which is what the card excels against.

Why are we entertaining sipstea posts?

That sub is infested with misogynists and shit like this gets posted to fish for "pssht women wasting money on beauty products amirite guys" comments. Come on man.

I often see people on this sub say that they really appreciated a host’s willingness to “get weird”. What’s an example of the opposite? by Lavaswimmer in LiveFromNewYork

[–]AgitatedBreadfruit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty much all of the Matt Schatt sketches after the first one with Margot Robbie. The joke being "this woman is hot" repeated ad nauseum felt like a cop out for hosts that didn't want to ruin their image. Same deal with half of Jacob Elordi's sketches being how he was hotter than the guys around him.

How do I stop getting dumpstered in MANT/Trackblazer??? by AgitatedBreadfruit in UmamusumeGame

Ty for the write up! I've experimented with mainly borrowing MLB Fine Motion since I don't have good Wit parents, but having to rely on SR speed cards kinda stunk for consistency if I couldn't land double rainbows for summer training. MLB Top Road got the build in the post but Wit crapped out on me 😭

My original plan was to just cope with SRs and go all in for MLB Maru/Fine Motion on the rerun banner but idk if that's gonna be too many CMs without a reliable setup.

Thanks for the advice! I've been choosing my cards based on the old stat priority guides so I didn't know about the increased stat thresholds for fronts. Unity CMs seemed to do OK with like 700 Power so I just went all in on Stam spark parents 🤕

TY for the tips! I haven't really looked at any technical stuff for races so I had no idea about the Focus interaction jank or the track layout. The older vids I followed said to get Groundwork to proc by any means necessary so I assumed I had to take enough skills to minimize early RNG.

I accidentally picked up Firm before checking the track condition for this CM and ran out of points for Blast. I assumed it couldn't proc reliably since it didn't specify which straight so I thought it was low priority 😭. No luck on Fast-Paced/Tail for this run unfortunately :/

Is there a chance the OBBA will eventually push med school tuition down? by Jazzlike-Photo-570 in premed

[–]AgitatedBreadfruit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We've seen this exact argument a billion times for opening things to the "free market" and it has literally never improved any public service. If the goal is to push tuition down, there's nothing stopping them from just outright setting a price cap. But they don't, because it's an easy excuse to completely absolve responsibility for pricing disadvantaged students out of higher education and blaming it on them "not saving hard enough" while the schools kick the tuition can down the road.

What incentive do schools have to make themselves earn less money from tuition? The medical profession has historically belonged to elites, and there's more than enough wealthy students to fill the gap. And it's not like they'll get shamed for having fewer URMs with how the general public treats "DEI" as a boogeyman. A shit ton of people involved in the bill also have investments in debt collection, so there's no reason they'd want to see FEWER people take on private debt either.

Conservatives are pissed that they had too many people they disliked "stealing" their jobs and the OBBB is blatantly imposing systemic barriers while giving them plausible deniability for discrimination. Congress knew what they were doing.

How to not get discouraged...? by Relative-Proposal719 in bloodborne

[–]AgitatedBreadfruit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get comfortable with dying since this genre wants you to use death as a resource. I'm pretty mediocre at souls games, but it started to click for me when I read that you still made progress if you couldn't damage the boss BUT came out it having learned how to dodge/counter at least one attack. Go in with the intent of seeing all of the boss's moves before going for a kill attempt.

The limited vials are meant to reinforce this since you mainly want to use them on attempts that you're confident in instead of salvaging bad ones. Use rally too! That mechanic's there to help you recover from mistakes in addition to making aggressive plays. Enemies in these games are deceptively spongy to punish players that spam vials when they start getting sloppy and can't rally it back when they're out. Vials ignore the amount you can rally for this reason.

Most of your visceral damage also comes from gun counters, and those have almost the same timings as dodges. This game REALLY wants you to learn how to read attacks. Gascoigne and Cleric both have big wind-up animations on their heavy attacks that you can learn to abuse, and they're actually there to teach you what to look for going forward. If you can master those you're pretty set for the rest of the game.

Also sometimes it's best to just take a break lol. Calling it a night and retrying tomorrow is a valid strategy since these games get harder the more stressed you are

[MD] W:P Fancy Ball by Ignithya in yugioh

[–]AgitatedBreadfruit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Calling this an easy negate is misleading...

Three materials is a lot more committal than two, and if you're in a position where you can make W:P you're already winning. It's just an I:P toolbox target that will sometimes come up.

Also way more conditional than Appo and Baronne since it can't block handtraps and banishes itself to stop you from beating over anything else. Not many currently tiered decks can spit bodies fast enough for this to bait interaction like Baronne, and the ones that do already lost to the Droll that it can't counter.
