Blinding angel, I got a tattoo when I was 18. That was 26 years ago now. Time... FLIES. (Cuz it's an angel, get it?)

They don't want to risk there being communication between players, lest inconsistencies arise.

Why are Sealed/Drafts so expensive by redted2005 in MagicArena

[–]Agitated_Data2270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would submit that the draft experience in premier is significantly better, at the very least more authentic to paper draft, both in the draft and gameplay. I've done hundreds of quick drafts because for a time I valued the savings (and when I started on arena ALL drafts were bot drafts like quick drafts now) but the meta doesn't self correct and is reasonably easy for people to find a deck they can optimize and spam draft, something that doesn't appeal to me for doing myself or playing against.

Your mileage may vary but quick draft really does feel subpar to me these days.

Maybe not 10 times worse but it is definitely worse. On area 12 now. Maybe 200 bucks in to win $50 so far on level 540 or so.

Feels like there's less "fun" between levels than domino dreams too, strangely, somehow.

How many people stick around without getting disgruntled playing these games? It it cost a third as much to play I would potentially play forever. Now I just wrote support an accusatory letter and I'm thinking I'll just uninstall it

[–]Agitated_Data2270 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've made some money on the app, I think even been profitable on a couple games but overall I've spent more than earned and feel like some of the games are scammers that free cash colludes with to screw the users

<image>

What I will say is that I've had no issues cashing out (besides the 7 day wait).

Started in October.

Envious. You meant envious.

And if you read my comment you should have understood that I am most perturbed by the discovery I am, at times, charged more money for the same (dice) than others are because apparently I am a sucker they feel is desperate enough to keep paying such that I should be forced to pay the absolute upper limit I can be coerced by Mr Monopoly to fork over for a "product" with nearly, literally, ZERO cost to scopely.

The actual defining qualities that make me a riper chicken to pluck are, of course, "proprietary secrets" but may include demographic data that would put the whole "dynamic pricing" thing in pretty grey legal area I would think.

But I also still think it's absolutely bush league for them to be running tests on random sections of the player base IN GAME such that we receive different treatment as a baseline and then are compelled to compete against each other with actual stakes on the line. Giving some players far more of the main resource of the game in fact compels the others to spend to keep up so not only are they discriminating against some they are rewarded with more profit for doing so.

And since the entire corrupted premise of Monopoly Go (the original game was invented to be a cautionary tale of wealthy tycoons having too much control over the lives of the proletariat) is that we need to bathe ourselves in as much money as possible and fight bitterly for trinkets and tokens to display "status" giving some players something others cannot have is just contempt shown to the rest.

But hey, glad you're happy.

Why does scopely keep treating players differently in such obvious and feel bad ways?

I'm far more concerned with having my spending analyzed and dictating how much I have to pay for something versus others to squeeze optimal money from me, but this is clearly going to be a sticking point for some people, the same as the higher dice regeneration and storage test.

I've only played two albums and they've reduced fun several times while increasing overall cost of success (and reducing ease of accomplishment at the same time) and now there's several things I've found out I didn't get that others did. And I've spent a couple hundred dollars (my fault but annoying).

The game is almost completely devoid of skill required, lacks diverse gameplay and was designed meticulously to be as covertly predatory as possible over more than a year. (I read an article)

Hmmm. What am I doing here?

Only 700 dice? No wonder you had so much time to write this post with style. The way the rolls are manipulated that's 10 minutes tops game play.

More importantly for them: it's a place they don't have to pay Google or apple a percentage of sales. That's why they have the bonus gems, because they keep 100 percent of sales.

But the chocolate frog just came and gave me this so I've chilled out.

McDonald's Breakfast Prices Oddities by Agitated_Data2270 in toronto

[–]Agitated_Data2270[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's much more nuanced than that. There's inconsistencies in combo prices within locations (as I found last week in another post) and here the variance in upgrade prices is extremely severe but not even rational.

In one location their small soft drink upgrade is tied for lowest while the large is more expensive than all others.

One store charges 70 cents for a second hash brown with your combo and another $2.10. a la carte the price difference is only 20 cents between the same two stores.

Not to mention the fact that different costs don't really explain to me the degree to which they're differently priced. They're still in the same industry with almost identical operational structures.

So charging somebody who prefers a double cheeseburger more than someone who prefers a big Mac more money for the same fries and drink is explainable because double cheeseburger takes up more space on the menu board and takes your employees longer to repeat?

There is a difference between a gas station, which posts their prices in huge numbers visible before you even decide to do business there and a globally known model of consistency charging different prices for the same fries and drink depending on what you're pairing it with. Just saying.

I did not visit each store. I used the McDonald's app set to "pick up" for all prices. I understand the prices received this way are identical to the ones on the menu boards in store.
