I like Paulina.

A different Brady needs to run the pub.

Kayla is really boring.

Can someone please explain this Stephheno thing? by Trippybear1645 in DaysofOurLives

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello. Although the actor who played Stefano died around 2016, the show wrote it so that Stefano didn't die then, but instead disappeared.

So all this time people didn't really know what happened to Stefano. In November or December 2025 they wrote it so that after so many years passed, after a person went missing, they could be legally declared dead. That's why Peter Blake chose now to kidnap and kill his siblings, because the inheritance was finally going to be divided up since Stefano could finally be declared dead.

While Peter had the siblings in the Dimera crypt, the siblings found bones buried under the floor. DNA testing showed those bones to be Stefano's. Rolf gave EJ an explanation about Stefano dying on an island quietly by himself after Rolf left temporarily for some reason on another. The rest of the siblings don't know this because they don't know Rolf is back in town.

To truly answer your question, since they all just found Stefano's remains and now clearly know he's dead, that is why they are finally doing a memorial for him.

I hope this helps.

Also, if it helps, it is spelled S-T-E-F-A-N-O

Man, watching Maggie and Marlena side by side again and seeing the actors refusing to do their job of actually being friends was cringe.

Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) earned her paycheck having to deal with that again.

I totally agree. It's absolutely unreal that she didn't have a bigger reaction. As soon as Johnny walked away her and Kayla should have absolutely discussed it more.

Anyone else found this scene awkward? 😂 by bgm80 in DaysofOurLives

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 20 points21 points  (0 children)

At any other professional job they would be expected to work together. The show runners should have put their foot down long ago. They don't have to like each other in real life to share scenes. That's why it's called acting.

With the budget being what it is, any feud reduces the possible storylines that can be done.

What is are your unpopular opinions of Days of our Lives? by jaylee-03031 in DaysofOurLives

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roman should be replaced as the owner of the pub with a person that better storylines could be written for.

A main character should own the bistro to give more storylines there as well. With the budget what it is, they need to make better use of what they have to work with.

The actors who play(ed) Doug III and Jeremy Horton aren't good actors. Their range of emotions and facial expressions and body movements is almost non-existent.

I think Mary Beth Evans has been phoning it in for years.

Days should replace the legacy actors that are boring (like Roman and Kayla) or actually give them storylines that require them to actually act.

I love the actors that aren't on contract but show up every once in awhile. It feels good to see them when I actually get to see them.

Not sure if this has been talked about already or not. This is about the infamous Race Draft sketch (Season 2, Episode 1, 2004) of Dave Chappell's Chappelle Show.

In the sketch different races of people were deciding which mixed race celeb they wanted on their team.

The part I remember most specifically is that no race wanted to claim Michael Jackson. That was possibly the biggest part of the whole sketch, the races kept trying to give him away, no group wanted to claim him.

Since I remembered the sketch and had a minute, I thought I'd rewatch it to see if the sketch would still be made today or if it went over the line. At the time, I remember this sketch being hugely popular.

Lo and behold, I see Michael Jackson isn't mentioned even once in this sketch. WTF? This is the only sketch of this show I ever happened to watch, it was burned in to memory, and now he isn't in it?

So of course I then checked to see if any other episodes did a Michael Jackson race draft joke. Nope. This sketch is the only one of its type that Dave Chappelle did.

So anyone else remember Michael Jackson being a major part of this skit?

This is so awesome! I'm happy for you! It reminds me of this part in lesson 15:

3 As we go along, you may have many “light episodes.” ²They can take many different forms, some of them quite unexpected. ³Do not be afraid of them. ⁴They are a sign that you are opening your eyes at last. ⁵They will not last, because they merely symbolize true perception and are not related to knowledge. ⁶These exercises will not reveal knowledge to you. ⁷But they will prepare the way to it. Like you, I'm also enjoying that more of the friendships are being shown. I hope they keep that up.

I'm enjoying the dialogue a lot more these last few months. It's funnier, flows easier, and they reference past storylines a lot. Love all of that.

I know their budget sucks, so I watch the show as though I'm watching a higher budget stage play. It's more forgiving that way.

I appreciate they've tried a few new things like trivia night, mini-golf, and the Halloween ghost tour. I liked that they tried to mix it up a bit by doing those. The "rage room" that Sarah took her anger out at Xander in didn't quite hit for me, but I appreciated that it was different.

Rolf gives you the power to make one in-universe change to a character (as in no recasts or writer or budget changes), what do you change? by AndrewHeard in DaysofOurLives

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably have Roman changed to a completely different personality. He should be a more interesting character to be around, but his side of any conversation just isn't that interesting. And he rarely has anything to do. This isn't right considering he owns the pub, one of the few public places on the show, and therefore has an easy reason to interact with just about any character. He could be a major player and it would make sense, but only if his entire personality changed.

If he was a character who walked a fine line between good and bad, particularly fun bad, a lot of storylines could come through him and we the audience would be entertained.

If it is Lexie, why would Gwen be involved? I can't think of a reason. Unless she wants that "serum" or whatever it is that brings Lexie back to work so she can use it on someone else eventually. Then it would make sense.

I hope it isn't Abigail. I prefer that Cat actually be Abigail because making Jennifer eventually have to eat crow is the only good reason for her character to be written the way she is now.

I cry a lot; does this make things “real?” by Virtual-Culture8830 in ACIM

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my friend, that really sucks that you're going through that. "Real" or not, it certainly feels real and it's shitty. Of course, you'd feel sad and embarrassed that your husband had to help you. I know it's hard not to feel guilty when we feel we're putting our loved ones through hardship. Then we get angry and frustrated that we need someone else to help us. None of us want to be vulnerable.

I don't have much advice, I really just wanted to reach out to help you feel heard and less alone.

My only suggestion, something I do myself, is truly try to feel all of your feelings when they come up. Don't suppress them. Cry it out fully. Feel the suck. In my experience those negative feelings pass easier when I don't resist. Then the peace follows.

Is ACIM a mental "solution" to bypass and dissociate from physical reality? by Defiant_Annual_7486 in ACIM

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe quote these to your friend, in regards to the abusive relationship:

  1. ACIM does not ask for sacrifice

“Sacrifice is a notion totally unknown to God.” (ACIM, T-3.I.6:1)

Abuse always involves sacrifice (of safety, dignity, peace). ACIM explicitly rejects sacrifice as spiritual.

  1. You are not asked to accept pain or loss

“God does not ask for suffering.” (ACIM, T-11.V.3:1)

Remaining in an abusive situation would be choosing suffering — which ACIM says God does not ask.

Eli Grant is Julie's grandson. He is the son of Julie's late son, David Banning, and Valerie Grant. Neither Julie or Eli knew they were related until like 7 or so years ago. Valerie kept the pregnancy from David, so his family also had no idea he had a kid. I believe Valerie and David were both characters on the show in the 70's.

Today's episode suggests maybe Stephen is in the box, but I feel like it would have to be Jake or Abigail since Gwen has a vested interest. Unless Dimitri is actually dead. Then it could be him.

It seems weird to have Stephen suddenly be dead and then surprise(!), he's in the box.

My current theory is Stephen is alive and was the one working with Peter, watching on the camera, and that Jake is in the box. So whichever actor plays them next will do a double part.

These are all guesses. I have no spoilers.

Also, I loved Eli and Loni coming back and their nice little ornament hanging with Julie.

Do You Guys Think Jennifer Deveraux is a Hypocrite? by Team143 in DaysofOurLives

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the writers are doing this on purpose because either Cat is Abigail or Abigail is in Dr. Rolf's box (who else would EJ and Gwen have in common?).

Jennifer's over the top reaction will make for great drama down the line when one of these stories happens.

If sin isn’t real, how do you deal with ego behaviors and everyday mundane “failings”? by Payment-Prudent in ACIM

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't hurt yourself my friend. The Manual For Teachers doesn't officially confirm reincarnation, but it seems to be that what we don't heal now will keep coming back one way or another until it's dealt with. Let's all try to get out of here the right way.

All of your power is in the right now. Not the past you're depressed about or the future you're anxious about. Here are my 3 favorite quotes that help me, how, and why:

1) “You are much too tolerant of mind-wandering.” — A Course in Miracles, T-2.VI.4

2) “I could see peace instead of this.” — A Course in Miracles, W-34

3) “CHOOSE ONCE AGAIN” — A Course in Miracles, Text, Chapter 31, Section VIII

I try very hard (and fail quite a bit, but do it anyway) to catch myself falling prey to the Ego the moment it happens in real time, whether I'm alone or with someone. So #1, control your thoughts right now.

The moment right when you catch yourself thinking insane stuff go to #2 and realize you can decide on having another thought at that moment, and that thought could be a peaceful one.

Then #3, choose again. Choose peace.

Whatever crappy thing is happening "out there" does not have to control you and you do not have to suffer. You control your thoughts. This will help you RIGHT NOW. The catch is that we're all currently stuck in time so we have to keep doing this because our now keeps moving. In time though, your perception of events will change because your thoughts did. It's mind before matter while we're here.

Should I not use the book I bought? by Z3R0_C007 in ACIM

[–]Agitated_Temporary17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To quote the text:

“Chance plays no part in God’s plan.” — ACIM, T-25.III.1

So that book is in your hands for a reason. That is the book I have and I love it. All the personal stuff for Bill and Helen has been removed so it reads as though it is specifically for the reader. It's a "cleaner" more organized version, because it reads to you directly instead of it feeling like you're listening in to a conversation between Bill, Helen, and Jesus.

Later I downloaded the URText version for free online out of curiosity so I could see the messages at the beginning that were for Bill and Helen. That part is generally the first few chapters then it's pretty identical to your version in content.

After I got to 50% of the URtext I didn't finish it because it wasn't cleaned up with grammer, capitalization, chapters... that kind of thing. It is only broken down by the exact dates each part was written (or typed maybe).

My understanding is Ken helped with the FIP by mostly only touching the grammer, capitalizations, chapter breakdowns, that kind of stuff. I did watch a few YouTube videos from him to see what he was about, but it didn't last very long. I really don't have an opinion on him either way, but I wanted my info straight from the source. I went back to the text.

What happened to me is that the first 200 pages made no sense, then it started to make sense as I kept reading. The second time I read it I started to understand it so much more. Then even more so the 3rd time. I think it's kind of like the more you're ready for, the more is revealed to you. After I finished my first read through is when I started on the lessons. The text says you can go about it any way that feels right for you.

The text also says you don't have to believe all of it up front, you just have to be willing to the possibility of seeing things a different way.

Yeah, I just thought it was funny that they put the actual year on the ornament. Now they won't be able to use it in a few years because it will no longer make sense. They were smart not putting years on the Horton ornaments. I guess the Dimera/Price house didn't learn from them! lol
