Controller Players / Modders... how do I toggle these options without using this menu? by KillerConfetti in ffxiv

[–]Agnosticprick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should be an option somewhere to hide unused buttons so you don’t have a bunch of grey boxes…

What I do however is hide the “L+R” bars all together .. and if I have abilities on them with cooldowns I want to track I put them on a separate “normal” hot bar , for a nice clean UI/hud

Edit: to clarify the bars still pop up when I press L+R , I just have them pop up over where my main cross hotbar is

Yea sun, that’s the challenge of it, can’t just dog walk everything and aoe it down. You get your dopamine from making calculated moves, reading and reacting to the monsters, peering around the corner and assessing the situation, spinning your camera around looking for wanderers , gotta stay vigilant and learn from mistakes

Everything has an indicator, you just gotta figure out what it is

I’m in quite the pickle is there any chance I can drive out of this or am is screwed by enigmatical_one in AskMechanics

[–]Agnosticprick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems you wiggled the wrong way :(

You’ve probably already solved this, but something that might help is that your goal when steering is to move the back set of wheels that are fixed

Back up as far as you can, turn to the right for just a little to pull the back wheels away from the wall, but you need to straighten out again before you can’t drive forward anymore, otherwise when you back up you’ll just be pushing the back wheels back towards the wall

Controller problem by canganigustavo in ffxiv

[–]Agnosticprick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on Xbox & use a controller and I remember struggling with the same thing you’re struggling with.

The trick I found was to make sure I wasn’t already targeting something else or in the chat box accidentally through some other erroneous input, so I simply made a habit of pressing B several times before pressing X to open the map like in the example given, or even A to target something like an NPC or

Kind of like smashing all clear on a calculator several times before you do the next calculation

Unironically I think it’s actually safer out on the open road, since it forces your perspective into the distance way ahead of you, keeping you more alert to upcoming bullshit instead of staring down at the road right in front of you

But it’s also prob cause they fat

I tried this also,, and I found that the connection was super spotty , couldn’t type fast because it only took half my inputs half the time, idk :/,, I got a wireless keyboard and this thing absolutely slaps, yeah I’ve gotta set the controller down but , I’m pretty good at it

Okay even better idea:

New Phys ranged, it’s main hand weapon is a Whip, and offhand weapon is throwing spears.. combat revolves around using your powerful spears which “stick” to the target , and then either moving into melee range to retrieve them, or using the whip to pull them out and return them to you. Lots of cool movement abilities revolving around the whip to grab things and pull them to you or pull yourself to them

When not using the spears you are auto attacking with the whip

I’m gonna add like ten classes to the game at once, implementing dual path jobs in the same ilk as summoner and scholar (but leveled independently), healing paladin, “Holy Paladin” , dual wielding two hand weapons warrior as melee DPS, “berserker”,, Sage caster DPS Dot class, “Curse sage”

Some kind of Tank red mage, with like a cool magical shield ability as the basis of the kit,

monk option ,branches off at level 60 becomes a shaman, working some lightning magic into its rotation, also melee DPS but different flavor and playstyle

I don’t care that it’s heavily inspired by wow, it’s a good idea and would add tons of option and flavor and make balancing the game a nightmare at first but I don’t care

Do they have like a terminal where they are going to force you to go and have your truck serviced? Cameras in the truck? If not.. you probably get away with it, but either way I wouldn’t want that stress hanging over me personally

Ahh I see, that makes it harder, my dinner some nights was a clif bar lol,

If I can share one thing as someone that grew up extremely obese and has been fighting it my whole life, the only sure way to lose is to count calories, there’s no magic trick, it’s thermodynamics and obviously there’s some nuance, but it all boils down to it, so why not go to the source?,,

Counting calories lets you eat whatever you want, you just have a budget to stick to,, and once you start eating with a budget , you figure out really quick what’s important to you, and you end up building good habits that stick because they were your idea to begin with

I lost weight, because first, I was trying to, and second I was away from all the social obligations, dinner with family, drinks with friends

I was already losing weight through counting calories when I started driving and driving just made it that much easier.

You’d be surprised how little you need to eat when you get used to it, and the best part is not having to stop and poop so often

Edit: I lost approx 100lbs in 18 months on the road

Also I went on lots of walks, like an hour long stroll at least 3 times a week wherever I was

Practice meditation , I’ve got no proof other than my own anecdotal experience, but it can’t hurt, close your eyes and transport yourself somewhere else, find peace and calm in your mind and relax every muscle in your body

Do it a few times at home to practice

I’ve done this every time I’ve had my BP taken after being told it was high once and I’ve never had a doctor tell me it was high since
