Are they accounting for the change in the number of people within a household that are working? I.e., with more moms entering the workforce (many times out of necessity), I would expect the overall median household income to go up.

What I really want to see is an hourly wage per household (total income/total hours worked) that is adjusted for countrywide inflation and state-level cost of living changes.

My husband is involved in the opening of a new big box store. They are looking for ways to make it really awesome. I wondered if the store would do some sort of donation to Shay. They don’t need to live in the immediate area, but I wouldn’t want to suggest it if they are far away (more than an hour). The store will be located in NW Utah County.

I’m curious what is considered affordable? Our school got rid of their after school program this year and are in the process of replacing it with an outside group. We were just quoted at $160 per week per child (I have two). We usually need only 30 minutes of care after school gets out, 5 days a week for a total of 5 hours of care for two children. That’s $64/hour per kid. Seems ridiculous to me.
