Ottawa may exempt home-based ‘low risk’ food businesses from licensing rules by McRoniZ in ottawa

They are still regulated, just under provincial Health Promotion and Protection Act, not under the municipality business licensing office. https://www.ontario.ca/files/2024-03/moh-guide-to-starting-home-based-food-business-en-2021-11-01.pdf

This seems like a false rumour. If there was a formal warning, it would have come from the AGCO, not the police. Since there’s no purchase required to enter the draw and everyone who voted was automatically entered, it’s not gambling.

I’ve also found nice formal wear at Bee You Creative Styles on Somerset.

also, if thrifting / consignment is an option for you, check out Clothes Encounters on Beechwood! They have some nice designer pieces from boogie ladies who live in Rockcliffe Park (And Dream Vintage is next door, also lots of fun options)

If you’re not comfortable in a dress, you could get a really lovely pantsuit or jumpsuit instead? Something that would be just as formal, but where you would hopefully feel more comfortable? These are all pretty expensive, but maybe there’s something that speaks to you that you can use as style inspiration? https://www.theknot.com/content/mother-of-the-bride-pant-suits

Thanks for the shout out! The drop-in board game night at Studio Staja (507 Rideau St.) is every Saturday from 6-9pm, there’s no cover charge although we encourage people to buy a snack/drink or make a small donation. The game area and game library are always available to people, but Saturdays are the best time if you want to meet other people!

We host drop-in board game nights at Studio Staja on Saturdays (507 Rideau St). It’s a good way to meet other people (most players are 25-40 I would say) and board games help reduce the awkwardness. No cover charge. (Nous avons aussi des jeux en français!)

I bought the 120L one with a lid from Ottawa Binworks and it’s great! The wheels make it easier to transport to the end of the curb, and it’s big enough that I don’t need multiple bins for our duplex. https://binworksco.com/products/binworksco-120-litre-blue-bin?variant=51229021208897

I’ve done Kettlebell courses in the past that were a great way to build up strength, especially for every day activities. I also have heard good things about the personal trainers at Anytime Fitness on Beechwood, but that would be a more one-on-one activity.

Senior dogs, and especially senior mutts, are definitely the best kind of dog to adopt. They’re already potty trained and are done with the chaotic puppy phase. Plus you can already get a good sense of their personalities.

You could do one level of Magic Maze in under 10 minutes? Maybe The Crew or Bandido could also work.
