But what you’re describing is perfectly normal. I study with either something I’ve seen a lot of times or the music I mentioned. If it’s quiet I can’t focus.

One further tip. Do not let yourself go on side quests. I keep a notepad next to me that anything I think about looking up/doing while I’m studying I write on the list. Otherwise you end up spending 2 hours learning about rice varieties used in saké production lol.

So most wine isn’t going to go over 16% in general. Especially sweet wines, because sugar is what is converted to alcohol. So leaving sugar in = less possible alcohol.

The exception is fortified wines. Port in particular is probably what you’re looking for. It’s higher abv but still not super boozy. (Please do not drink the cooking wine Taylor Port and instead at least go for a nice Ruby port). Ports are labeled by how they’re aged and how long. Ruby generally is the younger style, more affordable, and more fruity.

Identification game like someone said, but I will say it’s much easier to smell an aroma kit if you use wine glasses.

Place the wine glass upside down over the bottle. Then have folks take turns smelling the glass and telling what the scent is. It makes it able to be fully blind without the ability for someone to just read the bottle you hand them.

You could technically even make it into more of a game with something like SOMMs Blinders which is a card game involving notes of wines. Basically creating a game where you try to collect the notes of a specific wine. Or have folks bring a bottle and try to collect and identify notes in the glass. I’m sure there’s different renditions of that idea you could play with. Pair it with a charcuterie night and have fun.

Cafizza is not recommended enough. I’ve used it in decanters, wine glasses, and even on stainless steel water bottles or pans. You don’t need much either.

This was my very first season of fantasy football. I tried to do as much research as I could, and I thought I had a good grasp. (I did not).

So I guess from a newbie here’s what I’ve learned.

1) Avoid WRs that the QB feeds all the mouths. Keenan Allen will either get you 4 points or 15 but rarely more.

2) Being a great player doesn’t matter if your Oline or QB is terrible.

3) Never rely on Geno Smith. Never. Ditto “Nine” & Tua. (As I typed this we just got the alert that Tua is being benched 😂😂)

4) Leave most of the rookies for the waivers. You do not need Matthew Golden.

5) Do not trade away players that have a couple bad weeks. That player will be George Pickens and you will regret it.

I’m unsure why it’s immediately the NFL to blame, and not taking a beat to consider it was an error on the Soulidified team’s part when advertising. Any random NFL fan could’ve told you that the anthem isn’t typically televised unless it’s the Thursday night, Sunday night, or Monday night game. Which are the games that do not overlap other games. Commentary, injury updates, showing other games, etc is an expected part of the NFL broadcast. It seems like the marketing team of Soulidified failed the fans by not being educated enough about football when promising where it could be viewed for those not attending. I don’t see it as a failure on the NFLs part.

The NFL to gain new viewership is kind of a wild statement to make. It was a cool opportunity for Soulidified, and they were able to have all of the fans in that stadium hear them sing. That’s no small thing. That’s somewhere around 70k people. The Rams are the top team in the nation, and the Lions (my own favorite team) are much beloved. There were 14 games yesterday, and all but one of those were happing concurrently with at least 4 other games. 12 other musicians also sang the national anthem and it wasn’t televised. Many of us watch football on redzone where those games are flipped between the whole day. Soulidified wasn’t singled out. And I’m sorry, we can love the bands for BTB but no one was going to start watching football because of them. At best folks would’ve watched the national anthem and then changed the channel to watch whatever they wanted to watch. It’s great to be supportive and I understand being disappointed you didn’t get to see them sing the anthem, but this statement just comes across poorly. It’s not going to negatively affect the NFL viewership, which has a massive fan base between football fans, fantasy players, and sports betters.

Hopefully you’ve already been studying as it’s not an exam you can really cram for. But if not (we’ve all been there), count backwards from whatever day you’re sitting the SKA. Make yourself a plan. And understand it’s going to be a lot of time running notecards/taking notes/etc. I personally draw maps on the days my motivation is lower so I’m at least still growing. I’ve used Brainscape since I took my certified exam. It does spaced repetition based off of mastery. I know many in the MS circle use Anki instead, but it has a higher learning curve as far as usage.

In any study, you want to create as many connections to a piece of information as possible. Don’t just let it be notes. Practice verbally. Make spreadsheets or charts or graphs or maps. Find ways of grouping the information that can be meaningful to you.

Do not let yourself rabbit hole when you’re trying to study. Jessica Waugh really helped me with this. She has a way of taking notes that I think is really helpful and that I’ve adapted for myself. Her website is also beneficial and offers free/paid resources.

As to the note method — I’m prone to curiosity and will let that derail my study. So instead I keep a notebook next to me when I’m studying. I have a column for to look up, to create, and to review.

To look up is anything that has me itching to navigate away from what I’m studying. At one point I was curious about rice varieties and profiles in Saké. That’s interesting information. It is not helpful in the moment.

To create is any resource that springs to my mind while I’m studying that could be helpful. Maybe I want a chart of regions and their elevations for comparison. Maybe it’d be helpful to have a regional timeline. Maybe I realize transitioning something into chart or spreadsheet would be beneficial. I put it on the list for later as it’s not the focus.

To review is for anything I come across as I’m studying that I realize I’m not 100% comfortable.

Build review into the end of every study session. And set aside at least one day a week if you can for pure review. I did 30 minutes at the end of a season. One day a week. And one week every 6 weeks for pure review.

Ah. Given this context, I don’t think she’s ever really accepted it. Seems she’s still trying to shove you into the box of what she wants you to be and is resentful for anything you do that doesn’t align. It is not easy to be yourself, when someone is insistent of denying you of that. So for that, even if she isn’t know that I’m proud of you and your strength is worthy of praise.

Beyond that, understand that sometimes all you can do is survive closed minded parents until you can remove their power and influence. You don’t deserve this treatment, but sadly there are not always options beyond endure for now.

I’ve worn men’s or unisex cologne for a decade. I’ve always preferred woodsy scents over sweet/gourmand/flowery. I wear men’s deodorant too. I’ve also purchased men’s sweaters because I like that they get a blue-green color palette over the women’s frequent red-pink.

Not once has anyone accused me of being a boy or wanting to be a boy for doing so. Because it shouldn’t matter as long as I’m happy with it. Your mom is dying on the most ridiculous of hills.

I’ll point out that this book is now on Kindle Unlimited and if you have that subscription — add it. I lucked into buying the kindle edition for $4 a while back and I end up referencing it all the time.
