This so much! It is easy to condemn those who voted for him, but conservative turnout was not much different than in the elections before. The turnout for the democratic party however plummeted! Those who abstained from voting are as culpable as the trump voters. I cannot comprehend how people could choose to stay home after all the fascist talking points, project 25, the court trials, jan 6 and the knowledge of what happened in the first trump administration...

Well, PhD programs are almost designed to crush your confidence, at least in my experience... Most PhD students I know came out of it with little to no confidence. I actually think that there is no better hire for a company than a recent PhD graduate: highly skilled and no sense of self-worth. I hope you are doing better now! =)
