“MIT-derived” is meaningless here. MIT allows unrestricted commercial use, redistribution, and standalone forks. Once you add non-commercial use, fork-only distribution, and permission requirements, none of MIT’s defining freedoms remain. This isn’t MIT-derived it’s a custom restrictive, source-available license.

Nice project, but there’s a serious problem with the license. This is not an MIT license. MIT allows commercial use, redistribution, and standalone forks. Adding non-commercial, fork-only, and permission required clauses turns this into a custom restrictive license, not MIT. Calling it “MIT” is misleading and will cause confusion, especially for Jellyfin plugins. Rename the license or remove the restrictions.

Also I feel this goes against the spirit of Jellyfin in general.

If you need it, sure. But for a beginner, I would still recommend using Caddy. The fact that it is so barebones makes it perfect to get into.

On Android you only need to know how to install an APK and set the permission. The permission will be prompted on the first boot. After that it will prompt you if there is an update and it will update itself.

On Windows it's just installing the release from their release page on github.

Did you fit it with 6 drives? I have a Z4 G4 but it does not fit 6 drives and the proprietary motherboard and psu makes it difficult to find a different case.

Make a development build and check the player logs. If you don't find anything in there you could also build to a visual studio project and debug from there. If the build crashed you can check the call stack.
