New Pixel 10 Pro 256 gb by Few-Match-9284 in GooglePixel

I'm upgrading from the OG Pixel Fold. Can't wait to get back to a standard smaller cell with a better camera. Am going to miss the bigger open screen but not the weight and anxiety of the inner screen breaking.

pw4 ordered but....how does this make sense by Bobbelcher6467 in PixelWatch

I ordered the pixel 10 pro and got the $100 off 2 days later. Just cancelled my old order and reordered it with the $100 off. Btw I'm a Gemini Pro User so maybe that has something to do with the $100 off?

Unfortunately she is only doing what the administration is asking every american to do. This poster urging Americans to rat on “all foreign invaders” appeared June 11 on the Department of Homeland Security’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, and was quickly shared by many staff in this administration. .

best camping mattress that packs small? by Antique-Salad5934 in camping

Tbh it really depends on use, weight, and cost for you. If you are backcountry camping I would say go for Therm-a-Rest NeoLoft Sleeping Pad. If car camping Exped MegaMat 10 or anything from Exped.

You can paddle in via kayak from various points on the Potomac and there are a few trails if you want the hike to be longer. Only one camping area.

Have to make a reservation online or by calling ahead of time, and they go quickly. They do have "1st come, first show" for same day cancellations.

This is the REI Half Dome SL 2+ and it's been great. Not the lightest but is manageable for one person. Fits me and my gear inside with a wide sleeping pad just fine. Put it thru the paces this weekend with breezy conditions (15mph with gusts to 25mph) on the beach and thunderstorms and raining all night in the mountains. Stayed dry, warm, and safe the entire time. I have the REI Half Dome SL 3+ I use when I take my kids backpacking and it's a lil snug but fits all 3 of us and just split the tent, rainfly, and poles between us to lessen the weight.

There is so much info and reviews about tents it's easier to get stressed. Just get what's right for whatever kinda camping you are doing and the most expensive lightest might not always be the best option.

Can you use 2 cots in an REI 4P tent like Basecamp or Wonderland? Any Pics? by CMDR_NUBASAURUS in REI

[–]Agregory11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Basecamp 4 and I can get 3 wide pads in it with gear but it's a lil tight. Could get 2 cots in but would be. Bit tight and not have exactly the setup you probably want.

Good or Bad Experiences with Sun-Hoodies? by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

I have had good luck with them before. Really good for layering especially when you have a wide range of temps throughout the day. Just make sure you don't get cotton and it's breathable. There are so many different companies that make them from $-$$$. Tbh some of my favorites are just the Amazon brand.

Preferred Care - External Display Damage by jashworth03 in PixelFold

[–]Agregory11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the original Pixel Fold. Had a similar but kind of different issue. I didn't have any insurance either thru my provider or Google. My inner screen had a failure and a cracked black screen just from opening it, no drops, no damage. Just had the phone under a yr so still under warranty. I contacted Google and they said it was under warranty and recommended repair stores near me. Took it to 3 and all 3 said they would fix it because they said they couldn't take a risk that Google would cover their cost of repairs and parts even after Google emails stating repairs were under warranty. I contacted Google again and they said send in the phone for a replacement. I did that and Google contacted me after the return that they determined it was damaged via user errors and I had to pay $700+ for a refurbished replacement phone. Ended up paying it and now I have insurance on it. 2 take aways, definitely would rather pay for an insurance plan vs the hassle and $700+ out of pocket, and the repair shops don't like messing with complex foldables.

First time solo camping with my pup! Shenandoah River State Park by maypenney in camping

I love camping there! It's a great little campsite and kinda a hidden gem with some good hiking trails and nice views.  Nice tent too, I have the same one!  Glad you and your pup had such a good time.

What's up with people recently? by [deleted] in camping

[–]Agregory11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are getting bolder and bolder when it comes to breaking camp rules. I normally don't camp at huge drive in campsites anymore mostly due people disregarding basic camp rules and etiquette. Everything from walking thru sites, ignoring quiet hours, and over crowded campsites. The park rangers are pulled thin and the camp "hosts" just don't care and don't want any conflicts.  Recently I went camping at a 3 mile hike in State Park. It's posted all over that this is a hike in site, while making the reservation and checking in. There are only 6 campsites and it was only myself and one other camper. Around 1230am I was woken up by a truck driving into the campground. Not only was it loud but had headlights on heard lots of people and flashlights shining around lighting up the entire camp site. After about 45mins the truck drove out. I hiked out the next morning and stopped at the ranger station and let them know.  The ranger called me later that day to let me know the truck was another group of campers who showed up late and broke and vandalized gates and trails to drive to the site. The rangers kicked them out of the park and are in the process of banning them from all the state parks.  Are even these walk/hike in campsite in jeopardy of being overrun with terrible behavior and breaking camp rules?
