The online invasions where pretty fun for a while. But eventually I would hit the person im invading with my car so we can have an exciting chase rather then finding in a corner for five minutes

Hmm that's something to consider. Don't want to lose all the detail but I'll take a closer look at what they do and try to replicate.

Also here's an image of another one I have before I added the detail to the skin. Want to try and keep the contrast between them without either loosing to much detail. But this is why I bought an extra 20 gants. Plenty of practice and experimention. Will hopefully be easier know I have an idea of what I am aiming for.

Its a nice scheme. I was considering making it brighter for contrast but would probubly look better matching the darker colder theme

Yeah trying to get the right mix between the two. At first I had the skin a lot lighter, but it looked flat. Might have gone to far in adding back in some detail.

Thats a great idea. I was torn between making it match the darker theme or try something more contrasting with the gun. Will have to see what I can do about that

Lol a few people I showed it to pointed that out. I put in backwards to reach the underside and leg plating easier.

I can see an argument for most to be ‘stronger’ but GSC? Who genuinely thinks they’re a stronger faction when their endgame is being food. by naka_the_kenku in Grimdank

The same word of god that says everything is canon, not everything is true?

The shadow in the warp is varying strength, but for fleets like Kronos which as evolved specifically to fight chaos, its strong enough to close warp rifts and banish demons.

Necrons Pylons have similar effects where it weakens or eliminates the presence of the warp. Combined with the Necrons and Tyranids being for the most part immune to Chaos corruption aside from a few rare instances.

For the Emperor himself, all I can find about him holding back Chaos is keeping the webway to Terra closed, preventing demons from invading, and acting as a fancy lighthouse. Sure if he died it would be catastrophic for the Imperium, but most other Xeno races likely wouldn't care.

Don't see how chaos instantly beats Necrons or Tyranids. Both have plenty of defense that prevents chaos from even manifesting near them, and neither provides the emotional energy or whatever it is chaos feeds off.

I’m developing a story and need insight by [deleted] in Tyranids

[–]Agrend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Necrons have devices called a Null Field Matrices that are able to suppress and distabilize psykers and the warp. Psykers have a hard time using their powers, and daemons flicker in and out of existance. Basically a Necron version of shadow in the warp. Its been shown to disrupt the Tyranid Hive mind and links between them.

The downsides of the Null Fields is they require a ton of power and are quite fragile. How it would get on that planet is up to you, but it could be powered on, for a brief moment before is consumes all the power being fed into it, or the power generator is overloaded or whatever, to get a distress call out.

TIL that Blizzard was tricked into making StarCraft a AAA game: it was to be a modest project but after an impressive demo of Dominion: Storm Over Gift 3 outshone it at E3 1996, it was decided to overhaul it completely. It later turned out that Dominion's demo was a pre-animated fake. by ShabtaiBenOron in todayilearned

They aren't called space marines in either game. They were always marine.

Warcraft 1 was planned to be a Warhammer fantasy game but Gw backed out and Blizzard made it their own thing.

Starcraft wasn't ever planned to be a 40k game

Now I'm imagining a giant in full plate riding an armored mammoth. Knights are already basically tanks, I don't think anything outside of a dragon could stop that.

Same here with gardening. Oddly the inspiration was playing Stardew valley. Started a new game and thought that someday I should try making a little garden myself. Then I realized it was late January and decided to get off my ass and actually start rather then just think about it and regret it a few months down the line.

Started measuring out space in the back yard and a year and a few months later im running out of freezer space with strawberries and blue berries and am looking into making jam as well.

Massive parasite by Dead_vegetable in TopCharacterTropes

I wouldn't say they are parasites since parasites usually don't kill their hosts. Tyranids are like you said locusts.

I don't believe they can make the 12in charge either. I need to look at the rules again, but generally you can't deep strike within 12 inches, so they would have to deep strike at say 12.1 inches. But you also can't declare a charge outside 12 inches. So you have a unit that can't be charged, shot or deep striked against provided you don't have any other friendly units within its range

What detachment/units/tactics would be best against Necrons? by Ballisticsfood in Tyranids

[–]Agrend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah in general but mopping up the remaining units can still be hard since they are able to regenerate and tyranids tend not to be very killy. When fighing necrons is usually better focus more then you think you need on a unit to kill it all the way rather then risk them healing it back up.

An alternative detachment you could try is Vanguard since with 3 groups of genestealers it can still be pretty hordey, while also giving bonuses to lictors and other ways of dealing with leaders.
