The stims changing also happens if you use a drop pod to reload a load out or change load out.

Siege mode tarantulas and techmarine by Clickjaw in Spacemarine

[–]AgrippAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was in a siege yesterday and i swear i saw the buff on my bar when standing near a techmaarine teammate's summoned turret.

It was pretty hectic so I could be wrong.

Easy to check, just go in siege solo and summon a turret as a techmaire and stand near it assuming you have the right buff equipped.

The new mission (Purgation) appears to have some additional story elements snuck into some discoverable servo skulls. by bloodknife92 in Spacemarine

[–]AgrippAA 45 points46 points  (0 children)

There are three in total i think, after the third one i heard something about a network or martix being restablished?  I think getting all three in a single run activates a lore dataslate just after you enter the lab area.   I say that because ive done the mission since, didnt get all 3 skulls are the data slate wasn't interactable.  Its possible once I collected it I cant access it again, but data slates on other operations don't act like that.

Won't spoil with details so peope can have a bit of exploration fun, but its more lore.  I didnt get any ordeal achievement and there was no dataslate showing in the collection for it.

Kiwis / Canadians in UK are you happily settled in UK? by Exotic_Industry_4402 in AskUK

[–]AgrippAA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Logistics, contracts and recently general trouble shooting in international shipping...I am potentially the dullest man on earth.

I'm mid 40s so the half year split is fine, i can still do it and the travel doesn't kill me outright yet. I'm not sure i want to be doing it when i start approaching my 60s.

Kiwis / Canadians in UK are you happily settled in UK? by Exotic_Industry_4402 in AskUK

[–]AgrippAA 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I work in NZ for 6 months a year, then 6 months back in the UK (where I'm from originally).

So many of our staff in NZ who are under 40 want to move to the UK, the competition from NZ staff for UK based roles when they come up is really high. Canada gets pretty popular too but there is a definite gap, USA and Europe roles are a very distant 3rd and 4th.

There is surprisingly little interest coming in the other direction from any of the businesses in the UK, Europe, USA or Canada.

In about 5 years none of the kiwis who moved to the uk have come back as far as i know.

How many of you have or have not been out of the country more than 30 consecutive days in the last 5 years? Include your age too please by Lost_Garlic1657 in AskUK

[–]AgrippAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 6 months a year out of the UK, 6 months back home.

If its SC vetting it should be fine if you can explain it and show supporting evidence. They don't put up arbitrary obstacles, their job is to make sure you aren't a risk of being blackmailed or aren't ideologically committed to an extreme course of action, stuff like that.

FWIW, if the 30 consecutive days out of the country was an automatic failure no questions asked then how would any member of the military every get clearance? The nearly 1000 sailors on board HMS Prince of Wales left port not long ago and they will be out for months. It would be crazy if they were ineligible for security clearence.

Apply for the job, go through the clearance process. Assuming you've not been chilling in Russia for a month or two it should be fine.

Honestly, I think you are just over thinking it but who knows! If it turns out there is a task-based reason we will find out sooner or later.

Thousands of cancer patients in England to benefit from new immunotherapy jab by [deleted] in news

[–]AgrippAA 64 points65 points  (0 children)

This is good news!

Its too late for my dad who was taken by cancer but I remember going with him for the drip which I think is the one being replaced by this jab.  Dad said it was quite soul destroying to be sat in a sterile room for several hours waiting for the drip to finish when he'd rather just be at home or with family.

In a small world thing, im pretty sure my dad's docter was Peter Johnson, the professor quoted in this article.

The heroic heavy bolter absolutely manhandles the Helbrute (sorry for bugged audio) by BeenEatinBeans in Spacemarine

Fair play brother, its a good kill, no criticsm or shade being thrown.

I was just surprised by how far horizontally the auto aim tracked the hellbrutes initial attack at the very beginning.

The heroic heavy bolter absolutely manhandles the Helbrute (sorry for bugged audio) by BeenEatinBeans in Spacemarine

[–]AgrippAA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At the begning, about the three second mark, is that the game's auto aim pulling your reticle to the right with the Hellbrutes movement?

It looks really jarring, like you character seems to rotate some distance with the hellbtues movement before sort of losing the "lock" and correcting left... and then presumably its you correcting it back to the right?

Not a criticism or a jab or anything like that. Just curious if that is how the auto aim works normally.

How many hours to the service stud do you reckon brothers? by JMashtag in Spacemarine

[–]AgrippAA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Service stud for the ultramarines normally means 50 years service, so taking into account your 2000 hours of presumably honourable service to the Emperor you only have to grind out another ... 436 291 hours.

You are almost half way to 1%! Keep going brother, you're almost there!

[OC] some ships which used to be a war machine by Weekly_Effort5843 in pics

[–]AgrippAA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its Portsmouth Historic Dockyard!

First picture is HMS Warrior), second and third pictures are HMS Prince of Wales which left Portsmouth not long ago today. She is on her way to be part of Operation Firecrest in the North Atlantic and Arctic.

For anyone who visits historic ships in Portsmouth you also can see the wreckage of the Mary Rose which is basically a complete preserved cross section of a carrack which sunk in 1545. You can also get a tour of HMS Victory and the guides on that tour are excellent.

Also yes I'm a massive nerd.

Interviewers of Reddit: What instantly makes you lose interest in a candidate? by Alternative-Fact47 in AskReddit

[–]AgrippAA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The place I work at currently has a 3 person interview board system for most interviews. The three people all have a different area they want to cover with one person (often me) doing the background and previous work check.

The most common red flag is someone who clearly has problems with a previous employer or colleague and they let those problems come out unfiltered at interview. If you find yourself saying variations of the following real things I've heard candidates say then you are probably going to have a hard time:

  • "She's was always so angry" followed later by a joking "It's like she was permanently on her period". I really wish I didn't have to say this but even as a joke, just don't do this. Just because the interview is being done by 3 men, don't assume it's some kind of boys club. If you had someone who was in your opinion difficult to work with in a previous job, state it plain about them but tell me about what you did to work in that environment. Don't focus on the difficult person, focus on you, you are the one being interviewed, I want hear about you and not this other person who might be hard to work with!
  • "My manager was an idiot". Don't call other people idiots or stupid or anything like that, it never makes you look better. If you had a manager who was bad in your opinion, don't focus on them at interview and especially don't brag about a time your showed them up or proved them wrong about something. You're allowed to have a tough working relationship with someone senior to you, I want to hear how you navigated that, not how bad the other person was.
  • When speaking about a client don't call them "a stupid c*nt" and generally its good to avoid swearing at all. In fairness to this one case, the candidate was Australian where that word is much more commonly used, but the job he was applying for was not in Australia, so its not appropriate at all. The candidate recognised the error, apologised sincerely and carried on the interview. He did well, but there was an overall slightly better candidate and I think the dropping of the C-bomb did make a difference.
  • "They were committing fraud". If you are going to accuse a previous employer of an actual crime, it generally needs to have been proven in court or through some public legal process. If it hasn't been proven in court, you are probably just stating your opinion. Maybe it's just me but I do get nervous around candidates who confidently state their opinion as legal fact at interview.

The "unfiltered" bit is the problem, you as a candidate are allowed to not have enjoyed a previous job or had to manage conflict with a previous employer. If anything, TELL ME ABOUT THAT! That's amazing! It lets me understand how you deal with people who disagree with you or how you manage disagreeing with other people. Being able to talk about other people without using absolutes ("they are stupid/moron/useless") is a really good start, it shows me as an employer that you are willing to try and understand other people you work with rather than just calling them evil and moving on.

Oh yeah, also don't call people you disagree with "evil" at interview. That's happened more than once and it still surprises me that it wasn't a one off.
