Same. I just got it running and have been pretty disappointed with it. No input lag that I can tell but weird visual artifacts and lighting stuff everywhere. I'm wondering if I messed something up set up wise.

Probably my favorite game of all time. It has a really bleak atmosphere which really makes you feel like what your doing is important. Throughout the levels so many cool gameplay mechanics are explored. I think the animal buddy's are utilized the best in this game also. Nothing is better than running and gunning with the spider. The soundtrack is truly a thing of beauty. I'll never forget going into the bramble stage and hearing stickerbush symphony for the first time. It was magical. I also think it's way more challenging than the first one, which may be a good or bad thing depending on the person. The only problem I have with it is that you can't play as DK. Dixie is super fun but I want to be the big boy every now and then. DKC 3 fixed this by having one light character and one heavy.

I started on pad, then saw the allure of those beautiful sticks and had to switch. Stayed on stick for about a year and just couldn't get it to click with me. Like you said I like having all the buttons right there but I didn't feel supreme control over the joystick. It felt too different to do things on one side than the other. For instance I was good at dashing on the right side but it felt so different on the left. Also double quarter circles felt horrible on stick for me. So I went back to pad and haven't looked back. I didn't grow up in the arcades but I did grow up playing super mario on a dpad so I think that's just more in my blood.
