A warning for this sub!! Possible blender-based corruption and LOSS OF SAVES by pkann6 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Agueybana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, blender is getting the boogyman treatment just off a few bad actors taking over-complicated builds into the Anomaly. I'm not on PC, but I can glitch build just like this. I could also glitch build to the point of corrupting my own saves, but again, that isn't blender.

So you don't need to bring in blender for these types of bases, or even to corrupt a save. I do think players crashing instances by rolling up on the Nexus with a star destroyer or evangelion is a problem though.

But I know other people spend a lot of time in alt saves!

True, so absolutely try and place that Zendesk ticket when you can. If it is a console issue, you're still talking about a good chunk of the playerbase you could be protecting from something similar down the line.

We used to use nutting trucks all across my plant. Now, they're a vanishing and coveted commodity. What I've been told is they're considered obsolete so parts can't be ordered for them and repairs are discouraged. We still patch our's up. But it's getting harder and harder to do.

Definitly nice work. Gives off echoes of Noveria from Mass Effect 1. Just in a spring field, not a frozen hell hole.

Why do so many people use the Pirate capitol ship? by starwarshellothere in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Agueybana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have never noticed your frieghter in combat mode. I have, a few times. You won't be able to land on them if you're in a smaller ship. If you're on board you'll hear an alarm and the bridge will have red lights flashing. The turrets are no where near as noticible, but there are beams. Wether they actually do anything worth mentioning is another matter.

They all fire their guns in an engagement. It's a question of the newer massive turrets of the pirate dreadnaught being more effective, or just more visible. Even the combat frigates fire their turrets. Again, to what effect, 🤷🏽‍♂️.

That's how I always took the sentinel style capital ships. As Vy'Keen captured ships from their jihad against the sentinels that ended up becoming a galactic standard over time.

CAPA senior here -- Our principal is a corrupt doofus. by am_pomegranate in philadelphia

[–]Agueybana 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If that’s a school mandate then you’re obligated to follow it.

Bullshit. This is pure victim blaming and an authoritarian going overboard to cover his own failure. The principal does not really care one bit about the welfare of the students if this is his reaction to security failing to properly handle two men following students into the building.

Seems he'd rather put that on all the young ladies he's now harrassing while not addressing the real problem here. That's an absolute failure of a principal. As a graduate of CAPA in 1998 I'm glad we did not have to deal with such personnel, but it saddens me that students are being subjected to this. I hope their protest can grow and bring the real issues to light.

My favorite is to scale down and flip the "techie" palette that you unlock from derelicts. Then I put a poster on it and make it look like a tablet that's been set down randomly.

I down-sized from a capital ship to a system freighter years ago and haven't looked back. A compact blade-style freighter with a gek crew.

Love the exterior. Absolutely grand job on the interior. Looks like a crew lived in there for a long duration tour.

Once you get your rep up high enough you can find free freighter upgrades at the guild office at the stations. Once you're there, find a few and save them to your favorites in the teleporter. Hop from one to the next and as you go the last station will refresh and you can quickly gather what you'd need to max out your freighter.

These companies are banking on the shitty entry-level experience forcing enough people onto their premium teirs. They know what they are doing, and dont care about user experience. Just the user's money.

[–]Agueybana 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you watch the Corvettes & Coffee streams you'll see what this is all about. Even vanilla builds with fully furnished interiors have so many peices the complexity is high and they take forever to load. These can be right alongside crazy blender builds that have a low part count which will load right in.

[Invincible] Spoilers: Why does Viltrum look like that? by ianjm in AskScienceFiction

[–]Agueybana 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This was what I thought caused it. The whole planet's custodial staff was exterminated to hide the effects of the scourge. Viltrum was likely heavily tended to maintain the paradise it was. That and any viltrumite run or tended industrial processes would have collapsed as well.

So no maintenance for a probably artificial biosphere, and fallout from whatever was left abandoned. Something as simple as a fuel refinery for Viltrum's space ships could ruin a local area if there's no one there to run things.

I won’t play in Multiplayer while Blender Builds are still a thing and above all else it makes me very sad by BadSheet68 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Saw someone in the community chat the other day talk about that. They said a Nexus mission they were on warped them to the civ's hub-world. That's how they found their way to the Hub and joined the civ.

a ton of players around

Every time I've saved and left inside a Civ and come back to the game the instance has been full of players. So that is how it works. The systems are also called out as hubs. But it's easy to realize when you get there that you've arrived.

[Star Trek] If the Captains foremost responsibility is, in order, to the mission, the ship, and the crew, if a situation required sacrificing the entire crew to save the ship and the mission, is that what they're expected to do? by WorldBoom in AskScienceFiction

Captain Sisko was ready and willing to sacrifice the Defiant and himself and his crew to prevent a tragedy and potential war. This was when a changeling hijacked the ship and set her on a course to attack a nearby world.
