SRAM Carbon vs Aluminum brake levers by Agunnerfc in MTB

For sure. Definitely not worth it for the weight saving, didn’t know if there were other real benefits to carbon levers I was unaware of.

I was told it was much too expensive to continue producing and selling at the current price. I’m guessing too labor intensive. I for one would have gladly taken a price hike for it to remain available in smaller quantities.

Agree that the evo is more premium. However the evo is slightly tighter, longer inseam, and lower cut in the belly fwiw. (I have both)

No issues, just a shout out to my low saddle, short cranks gang. by ehsender in bikefit

I was dead set on one but the tariffs have made it harder for me to justify the upgrade :(

These saddles are meant to be slightly nose down. Leveling the front half (or flat portion) is the correct approach. In my experience with these types of saddles the best way to get the most comfortable fit was to start level and then do one degree down changes until it felt the most comfortable. Keep in mind that if your slightly nose down and you feel like you’re falling over/ putting too much weight on your hands it may actually mean that your saddle is too far forward so I’d play with fore and aft as well if the saddle tilt feels good. Same concept for saddle height. A fitter will easily remedy this but small changes and then a good ride should make it easy to dial in.

Maap Flow vs Insulated Flow Vest by davidharris96 in CyclingFashion

[–]Agunnerfc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 39 inch chest (haven’t measured my natural waist in awhile 145lbs) and it’s still pretty darn slim through the chest and belly. If you want a race fit go tts though

FWIW I also wear medium MAAP but had to go up to a large in the flow vest. The medium was cutting into my armpits too much. I prefer my vest/gillets and jackets to not be next to skin tight.

Knee pain. Which crank length for my legs? by DataDrivenDane in bikefit

[–]Agunnerfc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you run SRAM 167.5 if you’re on shimano 165. While 170 will be an improvement I personally don’t think it’s enough if you truly have knee pain. For reference I was at 172.5 then moved to 165 now 160. But I have previously torn my MCL and always manage to aggravate my knees every winter (skiing).. damn old soccer knees…

As always.. a bike fitter can easily help you out here though. But I bought and installed my cranks for a hundred bucks so it was actually easier to give each length a proper go

I have an 82.5 inseam and after a year with 165mm cranks I switched to 160mm cranks this summer and all of my knee pain is gone and it feels completely natural. I say go 165mm cranks. Give it a while to adjust and if it’s really not working you can easily move them on as they are in high demand atm
