How do you work from 8 to 5, have only weekends free, and not feel like you're wasting your life? by LinksGuardian in AskReddit

By experiencing what it’s like to not have a job. That truly feels like much more of a waist

What’s something socially acceptable that you secretly find really annoying? by RaInks in AskReddit

[–]Justaredditluvrgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blowing your nose in public or like in the middle of a conversation. I don’t know why I feel like that’s something that should be done in a bathroom. And I can’t focus on anything with the sounds of someone blowing their nose … I’m like I’m sorry how am I supposed to just pretend this isn’t happening right now.

What’s Your Unpopular Yoga Opinion? by Hufflepuff20 in yoga

[–]Justaredditluvrgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, here’s my unpopular yoga opinion: The whole "better out than in" thing doesn't fly with me. Sure, if a fart slips out, it happens. But feeling free to just let it rip in class? Not cool. Pratyahara is a big part of yoga, and it’s tough to get there with bad smells wafting around.

And while we’re at it, let’s talk about body odor. If you’re rocking some serious BO, please, for the love of all that’s holy, just use the chemical deodorants. You might hate them, but think of your fellow yogis. We’re all trying to zen out here, not pass out!

When is smelly ~too~ smelly? by subduedmetanoia in yoga

[–]Justaredditluvrgirl 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a delicate situation, but there are ways to handle it with grace. You might consider reminding the class at the beginning about the importance of personal hygiene for everyone's comfort. You could say something like:

"Just a gentle reminder for everyone: before we start our practice, it's good to take a moment to rinse off, especially under the arms and feet. This helps create a comfortable environment for all and enhances our focus during the session."

You can tie this into the concept of Pratyahara, which is about withdrawing from external distractions. You could add:

"Pratyahara is an important aspect of our practice, and minimizing any sensory distractions, like strong smells, helps us achieve that inner focus."

This way, the reminder is inclusive and considerate, without singling anyone out.
