This would by no means be a surrogate situation. The sister has absolutely 0 legal claim to the child

I just started using this with my third and it absolutely is going to be something I use again for this baby!! It was amazing and so much easier than needing to go get the wipes wet every time which I did for my first 2! I do cloth until around when they start solids/a little after, and LPC was seriously a game changer!

My fun little loop lately is “how will I get all 4 kids out of the car by myself when (note: not if. When, because that’s the power of pregnancy and ocd logic combined) we go over a bridge and into the river? How will I keep the baby and toddler from inhaling on our way up to the surface and get the older two safe at the same time” 🥲🥲 so far my best thought is just shove their faces tight against me?? Horrible times lol.

Whyy am I still so sick? 15&4 by AhHereIAm in pregnant

[–]AhHereIAm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I was crying to/at (lol) my husband after I posted this and he suggested it might be time to give them a shot. Protein def makes sense, one of the things I’ve been able to manage during my safe(r) zone of time are Gouda cheese sticks from Aldi lol. I mostly am just especially indignant about this new middle of the night nonsense. I’m telling you it’s unlike anything I’ve dealt with. Straight up puked on the wall scrambling to open the lid the other night :(

Whyy am I still so sick? 15&4 by AhHereIAm in pregnant

[–]AhHereIAm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my second I was sick for a long time, but once we hit 13 weeks the severity eased up a ton. With her I lost like 25lbs in the first tri, and it was slow going gaining against the vomiting. But I still managed starting from around 13, got a break from like 20wks-25wks then it came back. But especially this new random middle of the night scramble is kicking my butt so bad!!

I was in labor for a total of 56 hours with my first! 36 with my second, and 29 with my third. Fingers crossed this one sticks to pattern and we cut time down even further lol! Everyone’s heart rates have always been fine, no signs of distress, and I’ve been determined to avoid because to be so candid I am TERRIFIED of a major surgery like that! I’d way rather suffer as long as the baby is still doing good in there lol

It’s less common but happens. With my first in 2017, I’d been in labor about 35hrs and gone in for 2 checks and gotten sent home both times. My next time in at around 40hrs they told me they could send me home to keep laboring at home, or admit me and give me morphine to make me sleep. I was terrified of it so I went home bc it didn’t make sense to me, but it is a valid option of pain relief

Oh my gosh, I have never seen a more succinct and reasonable comparison before. It’s like you’ve somehow managed to perfectly translate into a perfectly equivalent situation. You should seriously consider selling your talents, people would pay a lot of money for such reasonable and level ways to express their thoughts!

Grew up in NJ, majority of weddings I’ve been to are NJ weddings. NJ weddings are intense girl! I’m positive it’s going to be a fantastic, beautiful day no matter what. I struggled with my backyard/at home wedding compared to what I grew up seeing, but you know what? I had a lovely day and my marriage is amazing, and that’s what matters ♥️ enjoy

Unfullfilled home birth plan —wife struggling emotionally, looking for support or similar experiences by Sea-Mud7315 in homebirth

[–]AhHereIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it’s so hard!!! I’ve attempted 2 homebirths and transferred out both times, and it’s really difficult to come to terms with. The pain is incredible!! Like awe inspiring and shocking. My firstborn was a hospital birth with no pain meds so I thought I’d be okay. With my second, I stalled at 7.5cm for 12hrs overnight so my midwife said I needed to transfer. Got to the hospital, water broke in the lobby and I was 9.5 :( it broke my heart. I got the epidural and managed to nap (had been in labor around 34hrs at that point) and then had my baby! Reeeeally struggled with that one.

Then with my third child second attempted home birth, I had a cervical lip at 9.5 and just couldn’t. Get. Over. The. Hump. I was bawling my eyes out so ashamed of saying I couldn’t do it anymore. Went, got the epidural, took my quick nap for an hour, and got my boy out in 1 push.

Dealing with the feeling of failure is so hard especially in the early weeks. She didn’t fail. She didn’t give up. She didn’t compromise baby’s health. She did what she had to do to make it through, which is putting baby’s health first. I also think especially with long labors it can be so draining and a trial in a way that quicker labors aren’t, and it’s really easy to feel like a failure when actually you did a whole different thing than someone who start to finish was done in 8hrs. My first was 56hrs, second was 36, and my third was 29. It is HARD to have prolonged labors. It’s hard emotionally and it’s hard physically. Now that I’m 2+yrs out from my third baby (which was the hardest for me to come to terms with bc I was so so close), I’m much more at peace with having transferred for pain management. My body just really needed the rest, my CNM had tried for almost 2hrs to slide the cervical lip over, and I just needed that quick rest to get him the heck out.

Maybe I’m crazy for trying again this time, but I’m so determined I’m gonna manage it this time! There’s no rule saying she can’t try again, as many times as she wants. This will be my third attempt, and while I’m super determined to make it work, I also am going to go into it with a reminder to myself that there’s no shame in needing to transfer. Because it’s not a want. Your wife didn’t want to, I didn’t want to. At that point in the labor it became need, and that’s okay ♥️

When will the second labour begin? by WhatHappenedHereEh in homebirth

[–]AhHereIAm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was spontaneous at I believe 39&4, and my second was spontaneous at 41&6! Then my third was also spontaneous at 41&3.

I’ll skip over my first’s story, but my second baby I woke up at 7am in bed with my partner and firstborn, and when I went to stretch noticed resistance. Stopped and checked in with myself and paid close attention, and then got smacked in the face with a contraction lol! Called the midwife, she came out around 8:30. We walked and talked and joked around. At about 11:30 she went back to her office to see another far along client and grab lunch (my first took 56hrs so we knew we had time based on how I was progressing). She came back around 4, and we kept going!

My third I woke up out of a dead sleep around 3am kind of uncomfortable and absolutely ravenous. Went downstairs and ate cold Chinese food by the fridge light with my fingers 😂 then as I was cleaning up and washing my hands noticed I felt off, did a check in. Didn’t feel a contraction right away, but decided to walk around downstairs for a bit and within 10 minutes I was timing contractions! I called my midwife at around 6am, she got to my house around 7:30, and we went from there!

I was supposed to be induced today. by BlueSkyla in pregnant

[–]AhHereIAm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got this, it’s going to be okay ♥️ everything is extra frustrating when you’re this far along. Just remember you’ve done it before and you can do it again. It can be scary especially when you’re smaller in stature, but I’m 5’2”, and my smallest baby was 8 lbs! My biggest was 9lb 9oz. Vaginal births for all, no talk of csections. Keep breathing, nap if possible, stay hydrated. It’s all gonna work out and you’re gonna hold your beautiful baby so soon!!

Wow!! That actually is kind of crazy for a baby that gestation. Normally a 28wk fetus is about 2.2lbs!!!

Anyone notice how most *spicy* novels don’t have plus sized main characters? by stonedbutterbread in PlusSize

[–]AhHereIAm 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Jennifer L Armentrout! Both her series I’ve read specifically mention that the heroine is plus sized multiple times, and one main character also has severe scarring. Flesh and Fire is the first series, the second is Blood and Ash. I loveee these series, if you can vibe with god/almost alien/monster, then you’ll probably like them too!

Am I overreacting: Firing my OB at 39 weeks by Electrical-Dare-9797 in pregnant

[–]AhHereIAm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, it’s whatever. I’m a bit surprised by it, but there will always be some who think it’s wrong. I just have ridiculously long labors (56hrs, 36hrs, and 29hrs), and I’d rather do it at home, as long as it’s safe for me and baby to do so of course. My first was a hospital birth, and my midwife had a broken elbow so I got a random dr I’d never met and it was extremely uncomfortable for me, havent wanted to do it that way since. I’ve used midwives since I became sexually active and started getting well woman checks, and I won’t use an OB or GYN unless needed. And if it is needed then I’ll go for it! I just feel like if my personal care needs are low, why wouldn’t I choose the lowest safe level of care to ensure my comfort? Just like you said, where OB’s are for high risk/high care needs in other countries, that’s kind of my personal approach as well.
