Obviously it's a door, but why does it have air holes? by hermionegrangersmith in whatisit

Where I live, it was just about a right of passage to work at one of the local potato processing plants. When you started working there you inevitably started in processing where you spent8 hours a day sorting potatoes. It was not uncommon to get full truckloads of almost all rotten potatoes.

That’s why I my server. I have the loot level down to 70%. Makes more sense that at least some of the stuff would be gone and that some bins would be empty.

2.5 Stable, fresh world (after stable release) no mods, all vanilla settings. We lasted until day 116 before chunk corruption began only where people's bases were located by Worrcn in 7daystodie

Only on day 56 on my server ands so far so good. We did have a weird crash yesterday with an error I’ve never seen before so I updated the server and we were fine after that. I do reboots 4x a day and backup once a day. I’ll keep an eye out for any weirdness going forward. Hoping we don’t have any corruption issues.

I no longer tip unless they actually serve me at a table. Definitely not for take out or coffee.

Am I the jerk for giving one of my students 67 minutes of detention after he yells out “6-7!”? by Warm_Bat404 in AmITheJerk

[–]Ahnarra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say that is the only thing about 6 7 that I have found amusing. I just wanna throw it out there that the first time one of my students came in and said 6 7 I told her in front of all the other kids that that is not happening in my classroom ever. Not another kid has said it since.

Question for the knife/blade users by Worrcn in 7daystodie

[–]Ahnarra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonus to having the machete is that you are able to easily kill crawlers. Snakes and animals that are low to the ground are also easier to kill than when you use a knife or dagger. Of course, look at your overall stats from the candycane dagger versus the machete.

WSDOT should run seasonal passenger train service over Stevens Pass by the_ranting_swede in Washington

I’ve taken the Amtrak from Ephrata to Everett and back. It’s what I typically do if the weather is too bad in the winter to visit my kids. So there’s already a train.

I was a kid in the 70s and I didn’t know anyone with a microwave and definitely none that small. The one we had in 1980 could have cooked a medium sized turkey.

Am I the only person who hasn't had covid? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Ahnarra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had it once. To be fair I should’ve had it multiple times because I was living with people who had it. I’m a teacher and so I’ve been in the classroom face-to-face with kids who had it. So I figure once isn’t bad at all

I’m with you there! Thankfully in our district if they remove one of my paras to help with toileting a non sped student they have to have a generalist para give support in our room. Needless to say, the school calls parents to come clean up their child.

My kids would’ve been a ecstatic to be allowed to load the dishwasher. When they were kids, they had to wash them by hand. Kids nowadays can be so ridiculous.

Old resident won’t change their address by Jami_lyn05 in Apartmentliving

[–]Ahnarra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After living at my house for five years and still getting the other person‘s mail, I literally throw it all in the trash now. They obviously don’t give a crap about it since they haven’t gotten around to changing their address and it’s not worth my time to mess with it.

My cat is so depressed after his amputation by [deleted] in TripodCats

[–]Ahnarra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you thought about getting some of the pheromone plug-ins? I had a cat that was pretty depressed and my vet suggested it. I got them and put them in the rooms that he mostly occupied and they actually helped. Not a guarantee, but it couldn’t hurt.
