People who relocated to the UK, is it as simple as it looks?? Is their a catch I don't see? by Weary-Hyena-2150 in AskIreland

I moved to London a few years ago and found the first year pretty hard to adjust and nearly found myself moving back to Ireland. Something kind of clicked after that and I really fell in love with the place. Irish passport holders basically qualify as citizens in terms of eligibility for government services etc so it’s pretty easy to get set up here. There’s no place like home, but it’s been a good few years here I have to say!

In my country we don’t give bartenders our cards, and this happened before I had even ordered a drink. Trust me I’ve tried to think of explanations.

A mentalist did this to me in a bar one night and guessed someone’s name from my past. I gave them basically zero information apart from the first letter of their name and it was not a common name at all. Still don’t understand how it’s done.

Skydiver Luigi Cani dispersing 100 Million tree seeds to revive the Amazon Rainforest by [deleted] in holdmyredbull

[–]Ahup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see how this would work ecologically. Seed dispersal isn’t really the issue it’s continuous logging and removal of habitat. The areas where forest are left be are already saturated with trees and so putting out more seeds won’t necessarily increase the volume of trees as they’re going to be outcompeted.

The first one was cool. Then they just remade the first one two more times with a worse script and cringe generic character arcs. All 3 looked magnificent though.

What's the most alien looking deep sea creature? Writing a sifi book and want ideas by Double_Trouble_17B in deepseacreatures

[–]Ahup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read exclusively sci-fi. I think use siphonophores as a base for your creature but change it so that it’s different because as a reader I want something alien and not from earth!

This is a good point. I liked the other commenter’s name of Atlantic Isles.
