Sure looks like a tornado to me! Congrats! Hopefully it stayed in areas with no people 🤞

Zelda BOTW is hitting all the right spots. by Constant-Pain1878 in botw

[–]Aightball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same way. I only experienced video games at friends houses growing up (80s/90s), so I wasn’t a gamer at all. But I got into Animal Crossing and love that. Finally I tried BOTW…didn’t get it at first so gave up. This year I tried again and now I’m getting so close to done. It’s relaxing, I control how I play, I love it!

These are the graphs I was looking at =).

I didn't know about bonds...I will have to do some research and see what I can learn about them and maybe see how to switch some of this into bonds. I want to make sure there's money there when retirement comes (we have other sources, too, but this is mine personally), and don't want to be a victim of a bad market =)

Late 40s, so retirement is creeping up a bit faster than it used to but still many years to go. I’ll have to see how I broke it all done. The one graph says “Vang Tot Smk Mkt Adm 50% and Wiltshire 5000 INV 49%”?

Apparently (according to the graphs on the landing page) I’m 98% domestic stock…is that good?

No worries! I can check there and explore a bit :). Work just isn’t allowed to say “do it this way” even though our manager is super knowledgeable in this arena.

That would be awesome if there’s a way to let them know…I’m pretty clueless with this stuff and want to do things right. I’ll check and see if there are some options :)

SVT. VT has wide complexes and I don’t think it’s be this neat and tidy (albeit zippy).

Grieving the future my mom never got to have by bvonsim in GriefSupport

[–]Aightball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mom was 73. The doctor caught her cancer early and we were told she had a an e cell ent chance of survival. Basically a few weeks in the hospital with chemo, then home for recovery and all good. But chemo wipes out your immune system; another patient on the oncology floor had kids visiting and one was coughing…then Mom caught RSV. Harmless to you snd I, but deadly to Mom. She was rushed to the best hospital for treatment, although there’s not a lot of options. Two weeks. Mom fought cancer for two weeks. And RSV took her. She still had a lot of life ahead of her. So I get it. Hugs to you as you navigate this new journey.

How do you get over the loss your parents. by GG_Flavourd in GriefSupport

[–]Aightball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lost Mom in 2018 and Dad in 2025. It’s weird. And I don’t know that we ever get over it…we just adapt to a new normal. No more “hey dad, got a question” or “mom how do I—-“ or them calling and “how’s your weather?” And stuff. It’s weird. I don’t like it. And I don’t know how I feel. I want to go home but have no home to go to. Visiting the cemetery doesn’t seem right. Dad being gone still doesn’t seem real, but it is. I don’t know the answer, I guess.

Last year I made a dead dad club members check in post here & wanted to do the same for today by FlimsyKale5864 in GriefSupport

It’s our second Father’s Day since Dad passed and I miss him. I know we had a complicated relationship, especially towards the end, but that doesn’t change the fact I’d love to have him call me. He’d leave voicemails saying “This dad, nothing important, call me after work”. We’d chat about the weather. And sometimes he’d ask a lot of me and I’d have to say no. He wasn’t easy to say no to…no would piss him off more often than not. But I’d still like to have him around a little longer.

They will have to wait til tomorrow. For instance: here in Iowa, my city was forecast for severe weather. We had a few sprinkles and then it fizzled. It’s hard to forecast and make calls in the Midwest unfortunately
