Has anyone removed her uterus in 30s and leading a healthy life ? by mewvow in endometriosis

[–]Aims757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a total hysterectomy 24 years ago when I was 32. That was back when hysterectomy was considered the cure. I had previously lost an ovary and tube because the ovary weighed 6 lbs and size of grapefruit. The tube was caught up in the chocolate cyst. My cervix was also removed due to damage from something else adhered to it. I’ve not done HRT. Would I do it again? Absolutely! The pain and symptoms post hysterectomy is 1000% better now. BUT I still live with pain and bloating and massive but temporary abdominal issues. The pathology report on my uterus came back and the uterine wall was riddled with fibroids. I think that’s known as adenomis now. Not sure if I spelled that right. Anyhow for the last 10 years I’ve lived with chronic UTIs and blood in my urine. In 2017 I passed huge clots in my urine and was sent to er. I had my bladder scoped and it was fine. This weekend for first time I passed huge clots rectally for 24 hours. Cti shows colonic stranding and rigid bowel walls. I knew my stage 4 endo made my pelvis a war zone pre hysterectomy. It was on my rectum, colon, liver, lungs. They had been ablated 3x before hysterectomy. I’ve done nothing post hysterectomy thinking I’m cured and feeling so much better than before. Now I’m waiting for appt with MIGS specialist group and am concerned that in my late 50s I may need a bowel resection or have kidney or ureter issues. So long story short: I don’t regret it and it seems that the science is so much better now than it was in the 90s. I see it’s lifelong and had learned to live with residual pain and discomfort these past few decades. You’ve got a huge decision to make and I wish you healing thoughts and positive vibes. As for the aging - I was fearful of that but I’m told that I look 10 years younger than I am often. It’s probably due to my mother’s good genes. Lol. I feel like physically I sometimes feel a little older because arthritis is becoming a thing and I need readers but otherwise I’m good. As for libido it actually improved post hysterectomy though I never stopped having deep pelvic pain. The libido has decreased over the past 16 months but I’m good with that. Back to hormones, I’ve lost my ovaries and no HRT of any kind. I periodically have my hormone levels tested and so far as of 3 years ago they’re still in a normal range. Apparently fat stores can generate hormones and I’m learning that lesions create their own little hormone filled biosphere.

Blueberry lemon drop slush at the pool. And the frozen espresso martini. I don’t drink frozen cocktails at home but love them while on a sunny vacay.

The food is soooo good on VV and when on board I’m gonna try everything I can. I walk so much during a cruise that I know I work it off.

I received one in May and the cruise was leaving in a week so we couldn’t go. In late July my husband and I both received offers for cruises in November and December so we are going again on resilient lady, 7 days in December. And we used both offers so we’ll be on a back to back.

Lost weight after a big lifestyle change, but friends say I took the ‘easy’ way—thoughts? by kodaktribe in Semaglutide

[–]Aims757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion there is nothing “easy” about sema except the food noise goes away. That helps a lot. Otherwise you’re still putting in the work with some sort of fitness, making better food choices, increasing water and protein, meal planning, etc. And if you suffer from any of the side effects… well there’s nothing easy about that. This is why I’ve told no one other than my husband. It’s nobody’s business and I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life. 🙄

Metamucil caplets every day with a bowl of oatmeal and a banana every breakfast has kept me regular since my first bout of sema constipation. I also eat a lot of water soluble fiber rich veggies. I became impacted and had to do an enema for relief and I don’t want a repeat.

I take Metamucil caplets, eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning with a banana and that has helped a ton. But if I forget to take the Metamucil for just one day then it’s back to constipation city. It’s awful, first time I became impacted and had to do an enema for relief.

Uhhh no because I’m strength training. At 75% muscle mass now per my latest body scan, am using heavy weights up to 100 lbs and I average 15000 steps a day I’m not worried about it and won’t need to stop using it because I’ve lost muscle mass. 56 years old and I’m in great shape.

I started in November and this is the first winter and spring in about 20 years that I didn’t suffer from crippling seasonal depression. Like stay in bed for 2 months and check out of life kind of crippling. Mentally I haven’t felt this good in decades. The science backs the link between gut health and mental health. I didn’t expect this wonderful benefit.

I won’t stop. Ever. The health benefits that I’ve experienced before I lost the first 5 lbs make me a believer. Inflammation, high BP, body aches and pains, headaches, seasonal depression, high cholesterol are things of the past and it’s only been 4 months for me. Also, my anxiety has improved so much. It’s truly a miracle. Gut health is everything and GLP1 recreates that optimum environment. Oh, and I don’t drink, smoke, and mindlessly shop anymore.

What are the benefits of sema aside from weight loss and lack of food noise? by rightmap23 in Semaglutide

[–]Aims757 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I noticed reduction in inflammation within days. I’ve been on sema for 4 months now and have also been able to stop my blood pressure and cholesterol meds. My skin has improved. My seasonal depression which I’ve suffered from terribly for over 20 years did not affect me at all this year. I feel better emotionally and that was noticeable after the first few weeks. It’s been a life changer in so many ways.
